  would dubs ever go into field service if there was no record-keeping?

  do you think that any dub would ever go into field service if they didnt have to record hours of service?

  i dont believe it at all.

  in fact, you could see that everything they do is because there is some sort of record keeping behind it, i.e.

  I wonder if Mormons have to file report of how many hours, books, visits, magazines, bible studies they did, yet I see them every day on their bikes doing rounds. Interesting isn’t it?

  Though I don't see how they are making it any easier for sufferers. Or should I add, they do good job in making sure that percentage stays where it is.

  Dub at work said that the Knowledge book was too difficult for new ones

  to understand so that's why the wts published the new book being released at this year's district conventions.. the new book gets "straight to the point".

  according to her "and many others", the knowledge book was too difficult for those just beginning a bible study.

  Male or Female

  i have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.

  because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.

  well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?

  okay, i'm new as you all probably know, so my question may have been discussed several times in the past.

  i'm just curious as to when some of you came to the conclusion that enough was enough and that you didn't want to attend the meetings anymore or not be a jw.

  was it in field service, at home, at the hall?

  It was not just one particular thing. Nothing around me made sense anymore. I couldn’t understand who those people were, or who I was for that matter. I saw my life spiraling downward as if it was being sucked down by a cosmic black hole.

  Every advice I received from elders was to my determent and for preserving image of congregation peace and unity. In reality, all they were trying was to stay in position of power by keeping control over me as they’ve had control over everyone else in my family and beyond.

  I was penniless, jobless, friendless, miserable, and lost general sense of direction.

  “New light” in everyday life.

  my sister had to borrow some money, around $500 from this brother which she was going to return of course.

  but she was getting married, and dub said "well you dont have to return that money it is your wedding gift.

  " needless to say she was really happy and drilled my mind about jw being good people.

(oh yes he said that in front of group of other dubs which made him look like a real ace)

  Anyho, today he turned up at the door, I said can I help you. Well he wanted my sister and beside couldn’t talk to me (because of “obvious” reasons)
  
  
  So sis came out:

  Here is the conversation:
  BRO: you know XXXXX about those $500 you owe me?
  SIS: yes, what’s the problem?
  BRO: well, it is about the time for you to return what you owe me, I have my own thing to pay to you know.
  SIS: well, oh, ok.
  ME: didn’t you give her that money for her wedding?
  BRO: well, hm,
  ME: man you gave you word.
  BRO: yes but I’ve had change in circumstances
  SIS: its ok
  ME: no it’s not ok, I thought when Jehovah’s Witness gives his word that is it just as Jesus said.
  BRO: Well, something changed.
  ME: so what you've said before wasn't the truth then?
  BRO: Yes it was. But things changed…
  ME So what you’ve said back then was only a “current truth” was it and as soon as you’ve had “new light” you could change it at will. Unfortunately for XXXXX that sounds only like a new lie now.
  BRO: no it wasn’t lie
  ME: oh just shut up.
  SIS: Its ok brother YYYY I’ll tell CCCC (her husband) to get some money from ATM when he comes home tonight.

  Imagine that….

  how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even yearning!.

  it can be quite confusing at times.

  Well if they were people on the mission, I’d feel sympathy and understanding for them even if I didn’t agree with them. But seeing faces of many of them that have silent expression of type “wh …, what, is going on, wh …, why am I doing this, oh yes I remember now to file field service report” I don’t feel anything
