My girlfriend just made a great comment – “it is rather interesting they never restrict JW going into business even though in many instances they'd be many times over more engaged (time-wise) than would they ever by just going to college.” Go figure.

Is College now wrong for Jehovah's Witnesses again?
by booker-t ini have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.
and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.
i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.

Evidence for the Exodus?
by Cardinal Fang inone for the historians here...
was round visiting my jw mother and bro (who stays with my folks when he's in the area working) the other night.
the conversation swung round to a documentary they'd been watching on video earlier that evening, supposedly putting forward all sorts of archaeological evidence for the exodus, including coral-encrusted remains of chariots at the bottom of the red sea, no less.

That wheel looks unusually shiny for 3500 old piece of iron. Unless Egyptians mastered electroplating metal with Chrome.

Hmike,
Well I suppose we could go endlessly in circles about this. The only thing I can recommend you is to stop reading commentaries and learn Hebrew for yourself. Commentaries are written to justify one religion’s differentiating view of the matter and as such are prone to bias. I could supply you with a number of other papers that don’t have a shred or religiosity in them, but then there would be always that nagging question does the writer have certain preference or hidden motive. So, yes, the only thing left is to learn Hebrew itself. It can be very rewarding experience and you’ll know one more language that you can also use to your advantage in business dealings, besides it even looks great on your resume believe it or not.
Here is the good site to start http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/

Learning surprising things about the jws
by greendawn inafter you left the jws and entered your post wts era what sort of things did you learn about them that you found surprising?
there are some recent jws that haven't even heard of russell or even rutherford let alone of their objectionable conduct especially that of rutherford.
or they don't know anything about malawi and mexico, the ray franz incident and the witchhunt of the early 80's, or the organ transplant ban.

Rugby: Lions or All Blacks?
by jimakazi inare there any brits [english, irish, welsh, or scotts = the lions ] on the site partial to the game of rugby?
for those with no idea what rugby is - it's a little like american football, without the stops, without the protective gear, played in winter, in the rain, hail and sleet [well last saturday anyway].
15 players to a side on the field at a time [unless someone is yellow cards or red carded].

That story has been around for some time, ever since Adventist Ron Wyatt first published it. In fact, there's a web site where you can purchase the copy of the video http://www.arkdiscovery.com/

I was wondering about the same thing long ago. WTBS explained on several occasions that Apostle Paul saw "Spiritual paradise of Christian congregation" meaning apparently a "spiritual paradise" JW live in today.
To add: Yes and they also think that Paul was talking about himself

How Many Writers Needed To Write For The WT, Awake, & Other Publications?
by frankiespeakin ini see how the wt & awake, km, and other publications are really dumbing down, and never really relay any useful information above a second grade school level.
i wonder just how many writers are needed to write this crapola?
i mean think of how easy it is to research information on the world wide web, and then think of the shitty dumbed down articles that you find in the wt society's periodicals

I'd love to see who is writing that stuff up for 6 000 000 souls to read.

Aha, yeah, it is really close just as it was in 1945.
Either that or maybe because it is easier to control idiots.
