I haven't seen such justice take place since I saw Sin City a few months ago and witnessed Bruce Willis rip off that guy's balls with his bare hands.

Any "Miraculous" experience happen to you like the ones said at Conventions
by soundbox_guy ini had to sit through those experiences at the convention, i was wondering, did any of you used to be one of those people on stage giving an experience about how something miraculously happened like getting the exact amount of money you needed to pay your rent on the day it was due?
i always hear the stories, but can anybody actually tell me something like this has happened to them when they were a good little witness?
and if it has, did these sort of "events" stop taking place after you left?

They keep giving that experience about this brother that turned down a lucrative job to do something for Jehovah. Then at the end of the experience they reveal that if he went he would have died because of it was in the World Trade Center. People always act shocked each time they hear it and start making moans as if the brother did the "right" thing. I think this example is sort of offensive, though, because it makes it seem like everyone else that died in the World Trade Center was a bad person and that they deserved to die or something. Jehovah isn't supposed to be partial, so why would he pick one guy to save while everyone else (including other witnesses) blow up in or burn to death in a building. Just doesn't make sense, but people seem to be scared into submission when they hear that one though.

Idea on How Defectors Inside theOrganization Can Find Each Other (espionage
by frankiespeakin inlets work up some good ideas that we can pass on to bethel workers, cos, dos, elders etc... can use to help them to start to find others in the org that know it's not the truth but are stuck inside for various reasons.
lets come up with some way of testing people to so as not to blow ones cover and remain hidden.
plans of espionage that could cause a major blow to the organization from those trapped inside, things like how co can give talks to really discourge the friends and cause them to doubt the organization, all the while it looks like he's are doing what the organization wants him to do.

I thought IP_SEC's "they still got their borg on" comment was hilarious especially since it doesn't look like he'd talk like that from his picture. But anyway, what if it was something as simple as each person having a blue bookmark in the Bible set to a certain scripture so that when you see them, you could say, "What a coincedence, you got a bookmark just like mine. I got mine, set on (Scripture verse here), I love reading that verse." Then if they show you that their bookmark is on the same page for the same verse, you know who they are. I don't know, just an idea.

What's your view on my "Being the Brother" issue that came up today?
by soundbox_guy ini'm in field service today and i'm not even the guy that took the group out, as a matter of fact, i show up late today as usual.
well anyway, i'm assigned to be on another street with my mother and some other witnesses.
at this point i'm the only brother because the other guy hasn't shown up yet.

Well right now in order to live my double life and still be able to spend time with my mother who is divorced and never remarried and isn't in the best of financial situations and appears to feel depressed and alone sometimes, I gotta keep up some sort of look that I'm trying to do right. I don't study anymore or anything, and most of the time when I go in field service, I find myself purposely sabotaging my presentations just so the householder can say they're not interested and I can leave. If I were just looking out for myself, I'd be doing nothing but doing things that further my art career and spending time with people I can have a good laugh with. But at the same time, if it weren't for me, my mother's youngest son, she'd wouldn't get to do a lot of the things she gets to do now. I pay for her to see a lot of the movies I see as well as other things. I wish I could be some big macho guy and just laugh everything off and say "Yeah, I'm making my own self happy now, forget those Dubs", but right now me not being the richest guy there is and being one of the only people that can provide some sort of fun to my mother's life, I guess this is just the price I'll have to pay for living a double life right now. Life's not easy and I know one day I'll have to make a definite choice as to which road I want to take, but right now I just care too much for other people.

Good to meet another fellow insider such as yourself cyborg, who recognizes the lack of warmth from those that are supposed to be setting an example for us. As a person whose been here awhile and posted tons and tons of messages, I'd like to welcome you....heck, who am I kidding, I just signed up for a membership on here last friday. Well anyway, nice to meet a fellow 26 year old who's suffering from the same concerns such as myself. Hope to see more from you.

Disempowerment of women WTBS use of that woman Jezebel analogy
by cyborg injust wondering if anyone has had similar experience.
i could swallow the fact that only men were given main parts at the meeting (i wouldnt want them anyway) but that im humiliated every time i tried to give opinion or make a suggestion, is just beyond me.
in fact if i was even mildly persistent to make them see my point of view id be presented with that woman jezebel analogy.

I can understand where you're coming from. I think it sucks the way the sisters are regarded by the WTBS. Then you got the ones that do act bossy and controlling and the elders say it's wrong, but most of the time the elders are the ones married to these women so even though they don't directly influence the congregation, they do it in subtle indirect ways.

Thanks for the responses. I like free-thinking atmospheres where everyone is satisfied and not just one person. And I'm not into those people that are hung up on power and feel like it doesn't matter what the person under them thinks. And by the way, katiekitten, I'm not that much of a "young'in", I've been with a woman your age before. And I don't mean just in the same room either.

weird dream
by Es inhey all how are we?
i had the weirdest dream last night, i went back to the meeting for the first time in like 3 years and lo and behold they gave me a talk to do.
so a few hours before i was due to give the talk i was researching it and i could not for the life of me understand one little bit.

I wish I had something more meaningful to say ES, but I'm new and don't know you as well as everyone else on here. I guess one thing I can say is, don't worry, after you go see "Batman Begins" tomorrow, you'll go to sleep with some good dreams. Well, actually if you scare easily, some parts may freak you out, but you'll sleep well knowing you saw a Great movie. I'm going to go back to see it again tomorrow as well.

I'm in field service today and I'm not even the guy that took the group out, as a matter of fact, I show up late today as usual. Well anyway, I'm assigned to be on another street with my mother and some other witnesses. At this point I'm the only brother because the other guy hasn't shown up yet. On the first street the sisters ask which block I want them to do first, so I tell them to do the block the brother said to do at the Hall. After I do this, some other sister across the street has already started and she's in the opposite block and saying we're supposed to be over there (We got sisters that don't listen at our Hall), so I don't get offended and I just say "Okay, since they're already over there, we can start over there then." Okay, now when we get to the next street, the same sister asks me again where they should start and I ask them what does the majority prefer. After everyone comes to a satisfied agreement on how they want to do it, I get this speech from someone about how I should just be "The Brother" and tell them what to do. I think this is stupid because it wasn't really a big deal to me, it was just picking a block to work in first. I mean I have much bigger issues to deal with on my job, stuff like that is meaningless to me. After they tell me this stuff, I actually start quoting some of the words I've seen people use in the forums by saying that "I'm not into the whole dictatorship thing, and that I'm okay with leaving things open to people." So what do you guys think, I've gotten confronted in the past about "Being the Brother" and just want to know, does it seem like I'm less of a man for doing what I did or was that just them being too bossy and anal?
