Would you support a witness who was refusing a transfusion?

i was thinking about what i would do if a family member was in the situation of refusing a blood transfusion.

if the doctors were trying to force them to accept a transfusion, would i support my family members right to choose or would i take the position that they are brainwashed and are incapable of making a rational choice on the matter?

does the fact that they are hopelessly ill informed take away from their right to make a choice that they know will kill them?

Finally confronted my mother...

i finally had the chance to talk to my mum about growing up as a witness and my thoughts on her religion, needless to say it didn't go well.

i don't think she has ever really worked out the implications are of what she believes, i pointed out that it is really difficult to relate to (and have a relationship with) someone who is looking forward to the day when her murderous little god kills her children.

i don't think she really understood the point i was making or didn't want to think about the point i was making.

i thought i should write a big thanks to simon for this board, not only has it been a big eye-opener to me regarding my past and helped me realise how many people have been through the same stuff as i have, but it's through this board that i've met a wonderful woman, michelle (calico ethel).. michelle is beautiful, intelligent, funny and luckily for me has terrible eyesight, i feel very fortunate to have met her and hopefully (presuming i can keep on hiding her glasses!

) we shall be very happy together in the future.

she has rather recklessly and bravely agreed to move in with me and is moving over at the beginning of february.

there are some really great actors in it and some really wierd stuff going on.

read the message before you check out the devastation in the attached, makes you realise how lucky we are,.

with all the news on tv lately about the hurricanes that is experiencing, the typhoons in , flooding in and recent mud slides in , we shouldn't forget that the has its own share of devastating weather too.

attached is a photo illustrating the damage caused to my friend's home in the new forest from the storm that passed through a few nights ago.
