I once attended a Spanish cong. and there some discrimination among the spanish cultures. For instance the puertoricans didnt get along with the mexicans, the mexicans didnt like the colombians....it was very weird. Some from the english cong. didnt understand it. They were like "but you all speak spanish...

Street work
by pratt1 in.
maybe this only happens in urban neighborhoods but when i was growing up, many dubs engaged in street work, basically offering the magazines to people on the street as they walked to a destination.. usually it was an area with a lot of foot traffic at a time when many people would travel the area.. did you or people in your congo engage in this and were there any funny stories relating to this practice?

When I pioneered, I used to do it every Saturday morning. We used to start at 5am, and had 4 hours by the time the service meeting started. I do remember this one instance, I was out with my sister, and we approached an elderly man waiting for the bus. I asked if he would like something to read in his spare time, and he gave me a funny look. When I pulled out the tract, he sucked his teeth loudly and waved me off with his hand. I said have a good day, and he yelled back, "ITS 5 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU??? We started walking away fast, and he kept yelling down the street, GO HOME!! GO HOME!! We were scared, but I think about it now and LMAO...

Witnesses.....will they REALLY be any different in the New System?
by gumby inin talking to a fellow ex-dub buddy of mine the other day, it occured to me that in many ways....witnesses could be living the life they expect to live in the new system.......but they don't.. in the publications we see picture after picture of smiling brothers helping each other frame each others new houses ....for free.
we also never see in the publications poor african people walking through aligator/ piranna infested swamps to get to a kingdom hall either in the new system.. .
the fact is......brothers hire brothers in this system to help build their new homes and are taught not to expect free labor, but to pay them as you would the next guy.. with regards to the poor africans.....and others...., the jehovahs witness organisation has enough money to see that fellow believers in poorer countries should not go hungry or be without a meeting place to worship in.

when you reach the top or close to it, you realize how political it all is. Its about who you know, and what you do for them that determines how you get ahead. It was sickening, as most dont realize how much brownnosing you have to do, until you get certain privileges.

I remember when Sept. 11 happened, and the article from the Society. Giving themself praise for helping all those people coming across the bridge. I remember thinking, "dont let your right hand know what your left is doing" (or something like that). The Society is always saying to avoid glorifying itself, and yet its what it does constantly, under the pretense that its proof that God backs them. Its sickening, especially when they used that specific event to show how righteous they are.

And all the witnesses seem so perfect in the pictures, everyone is happy and glad to be with each other.
I know personally of some people in the cong. that couldn't stand each other. Will they suddenly like each other in the new system???
