Scientology: Better Or Worse Than JW's?
by gloobster innot sure if i think scientology is better or worse than the j-dubs.
they are pretty effed up, but at least they don't try to hide behind the bible.. anyone?.

I think they are both on par. It's like picking a which poison you like best, it's still poison, you know?
I don't know that much about Scientology, just a small bit, but the thing that concerns me above all else is the fact that they hook instruments up to members and do all kinds of electrical mind altering things to them. That in itself is deadly.

This is a funny one: Real late one night I had to go to the bathroom and I was too lazy to switch on the light. Getting to the bathroom was fine, but coming back, I accidently went into my brothers bedroom.
All I heard was "Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah". I laughed so hard, I literally was crying. Just to hear my brothers voice saying it, like this name was going to mean anything, still causes me to giggle to myself.

How do you know if you're in love?
by LouBelle into be honest - i've never loved anyone - i'm talking about the romatic type here.
i have liked & been attracted to people....but love, nope.
i have no idea how to identify it.. looking at people in "so called" love today can be a bit deceptive, as what i have seen and still see to a great extent is 2 people .

I really believe you know when you are in love. It's hard to qualify it but you know. Having experienced love a few times, I can tell you it was one of the most wonderful complete feelings I have ever had.
When you wake up in the morning that person is one of the first things on your mind. You are willing to put their needs before yours, their smiles are your joy. Being in their company completes you. And the intimacy that you share is something that soothes your soul. Your entire vision of the world grows because you have this person in your life that you learn from.
I still remember when I was dating my ex husband and about three months into it, I woke up one morning and I realized I was desperately and completely in love with that man. I still remember the first time he told me he loved me, when he asked me to be his wife. I still remember the first time my first love (not my ex) kissed me. I felt like the sky just opened up and glowed on my face.
When you are in love, you know it, no questions, no doubts, that's just how powerful it is. One of the greatest gifts of humanity - love.

Are You a Glass Half Full Type Person ? Optimist or Pessimist ?
by flipper inwe've all heard the cliches .
" when the going get's tough, the tough get going .
" etc., etc., ...... " better to have loved and lost .... than never loved at all.

I more of an optimist than a pessimist, believing that each person defines their own reality. I see the world as a blank canvas that you create your world on. And everyday you get a chance to make it the portrait you want it to be...

May she rest in peace. Whenever I think of the Golden Girls, I remember Estelle's wit the most. This was a show I shared with my grandmother from the time it came on. I remember when it came on M-F at 6 pm on Lifetime, my ex husband used to tease me because I had to watch it.
She's gone physically, but her spirit will be with us always...

Afraid of the end of the world?
by LearningMore ini am wondering how much of my anxiety about the end of the world is from the wt experience, and how much is just me.
i just watched wall-e, and while a cute movie, it really made me anxious.
scifi in general makes me nervous.

There is nothing to fear, but fear itself.
The world has "ended" many times. Enjoy your life and don't let fear control you.

This actually happened to me when I was a little girl. I do not believe it was demons, but when I told it to my grandparents and parents, they totally believed it was and I would sleep with my mother (father was in the military at the time - long story).
All of the paranormal experiences I have ever had was in the bedroom of my first house:
I believe I was about six years old. Normal night, trying to fall asleep when out of nowhere hands grab my leg and I can't move. I can't see the hands, but I know they are there and I grab them, pull them off of me and run into my parent's room hysterical...
I was waking up from a dream, probably five or six and I woke up and looked at the wall and I clearly saw two hands go back in the wall. Screamed like someone stook a knife in me and ran to the other room.
Another time, I woke up and there was a group of men in my room, talking about something, something about I think she is a good one for us. I heard the voices as clear as day, I walked back and forth in my room, I switched on the light - the voices were still there in my room. I was so shaken that after that night, I didn't sleep in my room again alone until we moved.
Everyone said it was demons except my grandfather - a PO. He said that the man that owned the house before my parents moved in was disabled and he was probably still there.
I didn't get over sleeping alone in the dark until I was well into my late teens. Between my early experiences, the Armaggedon nightmares, and everything "a demon is going to get" - you can imagine I didn't have a restful night until I left the religion for good.

I just remembered one, I have eaten that salt you buy to dry up the snow, not the kind like table salt, the one that clearly said you shouldn't eat it. I did that for years when I was a kid.
Now, I wouldn't even consider it. LOL
