i was driving in my brothers car with him about 5 years ago (hes now an elder), we were in the middle of a row when he turned to me and told me that when i die at armageddon that i dont need to worry because he said he will look after my kids, this upset me to the point that i made him stop the car and i got out.

a friend of mine (who is a jw) i spoke to about it told me that he was just trying to be cruel and then went on to tell me that any children who are a part of a witness family would die at armageddon.

i would like to know if anyone knows if this true ?

Its nice to know after 15 years of feeling like a freak that my child hood experiences are not that uncommon. Every now and then one will still catch me off gaurd though. Fucking mind control.

I think that the big A is a just a tool to instill fear in the jws. The fact that this is one of the first stories that you are told as a child I think is to install a fear so great that they hope it will never leave you, thus making you stay. I cant understand how a supposedly god fearing people would not think about the psychological effect that this would have on a child. I remember as a child when a jet would go over head or there was thunder or a train go by it would terrify me I would be in bits, scared. The delibrate pratice of terrifing little children in to submission is sick, I hope that soon something is done to stop this kind of abuse, for the sake of the kids.

Hello everyone and thanks for your comments,

hi stevenyc, and thanks for your advise. Ive had little or no contact with the jws for 15 years now I have managed to purge my mind of most of the lies that were taught me, its just that this one, coming from my brother really got hold of me, its proberbly the only the one thing left in my mind that i havent "made peace" with. It has really started to become clear to what low levels these people will go to try and make you stay, no its not to make you stay as much as they want you to feel in fear, to not feal good enough, well guess what, fuck them Ive got their number. They want you to fell as guilty and as low as possible, they will go to any and all extremes to make you comply, I hate what they have done to me, i hate what they have done to my family, they ruined me for alot of years and even now when I think i have it all behind me i can feel the anger, the absolute bloody rage that these people have ruined some many people lives without so mush as a thank you or fuck off, nothing, you have to walk away leaving your family behind ****%%#$#%$#%%^^&^&^&*^^&^^*()*(*((*(&^^&****** (uncontrolable anger). Sorry about that i didnt realise that was still in there.

P.S The funnest thing is that i was collered by a jw who was the closest preson i had ever none, he convinsed me to let him come round or a chat, nothing heavy he said so i agreed, we had broadband installed a few days later and i started to look up sites like this one, he came round and i told him if he could explain the two witness rule and the un thing i would talk to him. I havent seen him since. I know some of this off the subject but if you the keep the genie in the bottle for 15 years he's gonna explode.

I just wanted to know if there was any truth as a witness that if your not good enough then your children will die ? And how can they justify this, you cant make children responsible for thier perants actions. How would a jw kid feel if he was towing the line but knew his perants were just crusing, would all his efforts just lead to his death ?

i have vaig memories of a christmas, but other than that, being a jw was all i know.

she begged me to stay but i knew it would be easy just to give in (again).

Yours is a very sad story, and like mine and just about everyone else on this board as soon as you have made the decision to leave sooner or later your life starts to improve. Its great to see that you have the support of your family thats something I wish I had but I wouldnt trade being able to think what I want, or want to believe in in return for my my Family. My mums a jw but she has never turned me away even though shes been told im a bad news ( actually they called me a spiritual blackhole, what ever that is?). She has suffered from depresson for over 12 years, she has been treated like a leper by her congragation with no visits, nobody wants to talk to her and she walks to every meeting and back on her own, she lives about four miles from the kh and its in the middle of an industrial estate, she often lies when once in a blue moon a brother offers her a lift home by saying she has a lift home, why ? Because her oldest son , my older brother is an elder and she doesnt want him to be shamed for letting his 52 year old suicidal, metal ill mother, walk home on her own. My point is this, If an elder cant be F***ked to help his own family when their the bottom of the spirtual food chain, then what kind of help can we expect ???

UN Question

i was thinking about the society being involved in the un, and then thought that they preached that the un was going to destroy all religion [nondubber] soon.

so when they got involved in the un do you think it was because they know that they are full of shit?

or do they justify their bull shit by some nonsensical reasoning?

I havent had much contact with the borg for a while,and this issuse of the borg joing the UN was new to me. My older brother is an elder so I asked him how they explane their involment with the UN. He told me that he has no idea what i was talking about, that he had never heard of it. I thought that this might be because he has only been an elder for a year or so, he might not know all the dark little secrets so I asked some different borg. I asked about 7 or 8 other borg for an explantion and got the same answer from all of them, that they hadnt heard it, I took this to mean that none of them including by brother wanted to talk about it. Then just by chance I went to a carboot sale. While I was walking around I noticed a stall what was displaying jw magazines, so I walked up and asked the woman if she could explane the UN thing to me. After a min or two of her saying that she hadnt heard of it her mother walked up me and told me its all just propergander by the UN and the americian goverment. She wouldnt answer anymore questons about it, nor about anything else.

So what I want to know is this, how many jws know about their involment with the UN ? And of those who do know, why are they allowing themselves to believe a very weak explanation of why they were apart of the UN ?

I also tink that not alot of jws dont no about the two witness rule, I might be wrong but I think that they only find out about it when something happens to someone in their family or someone they love. Then they get their kick in the teeth.

What Kinds of Jobs Do JWs Have That You Know Of?

i was thinking that most jws that i personally know have jobs that they really aren't happy with.

almost no one is a professional except for one cardiologist that got baptized a few years ago.

there's no one that's been raised in the "truth" that has a college education that i know of except one 22 year old young man who has done nothing to seek employment since he graduated.........any witnesses that you know of with great jobs?
