Inapropriate behavior by jw family members

ok, i have said in one other thread that i appreciate the fact that a family member that i have, doesnt really shun me, but wont get together with me where the witnesses can see.

but i have a problem that really bothers me.

this family member has a really good worldly friend, who started out as a business associate.

I know what your going through.
The fact is that you are 'marked'. They have less to answer for with those other people
around, than you. Its stupid and its hypocritical.

In my situation, my parents are shunning my sister and I, but they currently have this
worldly girl living in their home. She is a work mate of my other sister, and she was in
an abusive realtionship. Now, i am all about helping people in their time of need, dont get
me wrong. But they have her living there in their home, helping her to buy a car, and helping
her to get on her feet. She is this former drug addict who lost her children because she
couldnt keep herself clean. I got this very bad feeling when i met her, she is the type that
will take all she can get until you are fed up with it, and i get that feeling from what my
sister has told me about her. So, after all this that they know about this woman, they rather
have her LIVE in their home with them and not have anything to do with their own daughters.
It is disgusting and very hurtful.

I hope things work out for you and your brother!

Told my nonJW brother-in-law I'm done with the JW thing

i am slowly ramping up the wheels of apostacy and have begun telling a few people to help brace the fallout of me telling my wife.

i have many relatives that aren't jws - both on my side and on my wife's side.

i've already told my dad (who was never a jw - to which i am eternally grateful), and some nonjw business people that i am also friends with.. my wife's brother was never a jw.

i already bought 2 door cars, and the witnesses didn't like it... i felt looked down upon, as it was a sin to buy a 2 door car.. now imagine an elder buying a 2 door car....

I knew this VERY arogant(sp?) PO that always counceled people on 'showy display's', but
was such a big hypocrit. Just before we left that congregation, he had bought a brand new
red 2 door sports car convertable, not much later than that, him and his wife bought a HUGE house
in the hills. It was just the 2 of them, no children. You think it would have caused a scandal of
some sorts, but nobody said anything about it, i guess his status in the congregtion has something to
do with that.

Would you go to a funeral at the Kingdom Hall?

so my brother and i have been having talks about what will happen when our dad passes away eventually.

most of his brothers and sisters have died in their 50's or early 60's.

i flat out refuse to attend any part of the service that would be done at the kingdom hall.

When the time comes, you might feel differently than you do now. Personally, i would not step foot in a KH unless it
was a close family member.
If your parents are not willing to put forth an effort to fix your relationship, you can always just assure them that you
will always be open to a realtionship when they are ready, and just leave it at that. At least you leave the ball in their
court. I did that with my family, they seem to be coming around little by little.

When a family member is disfellowshipped, Christian relatives experience pain. Appointed elders should therefore do their best to be spiritually refreshing to them. (1 Thessalonians 5:14) Elders can pray for them and with them. Often it is possible to visit these faithful Christians to discuss upbuilding Scriptural thoughts. Shepherds of the flock should use every opportunity to strengthen these dear ones spiritually before and after Christian meetings. Additional encouragement can be given by accompanying them in the field ministry. (Romans 1:11, 12) Spiritual shepherds need to show these faithful servants of Jehovah the love and attention they deserve.—1 Thessalonians 2:7, 8.

Show that your disfellowshipped family member is wrong and evil, and one's in the congregation are loving and good, and in fact can take the
place of your family. If this doesnt say 'Cult', i dont know what does.

Breaking News--Better things are happening

good news friends-you can all go back now- the watchtower has dfd all on the governing body that was with the un for those 10 years-----also 678 of the annointed have been dfd for not seing this stupid mistake- also from now on you will not have to turn time in each month- this will mean one will witness out of love instead of pleasing the elder in charge of the time slips- also beginning in sept the watchtower will only be printed once a month- there will be 5 spiritual food lessons in the seetower this will give us all we need for a month--also in order to get the work done we have also cut the awake down to once a month--this will free up the brothers to take care of their properties like those in the world do-and also when a child has been touched or abused he must call 911 right away--this will keep the congreation much cleaner- also for those 3 day hot sunny assemblies that also has been cut to one day- mothers can bring strollers- because the people who made strollers made them for a reason--also no more meetings at the friends home for a book study--they need their home like everybody else does--and also starting in october there will only be one meeting a week--we can all get enough of spiritual food out of that one day--and also if one wants to celebrate christmas that will be on his or her conscience- they are not to be looked down upon---also if one is in need of a blood transfusion that person has that right- it is no bodys business--also elders are no longer allowed to walk around like roosters as if they are the cock of the flock- the elders no longer will walk around before a meeting shuffling a lot of paper like they do at the pentagon---yes friends things are looking better--it feels so good to have seen the light--well we always told you the light was getting brighter--now you know what we meant---and to all those older ones who loved country music like hank williams- merle haggard-conway twitty -johnny cash--etc--you may now buy their cds and it wont be considered idioltary anymore-you can also now buy a 2 door car and no one will say you are not theocratic- they will be dfd if they say anything--mothers that have young children may not touch that child--you can now go home early if the child acts up-also ray franz is coming back to be our leader- we owe that brother so much--i only hope we can make it up to him before armageddon--we can now say good morning to others going to church on sundays- after all they are human like us-we also have appointed a elder to answer all your doubts- you now have the right to ask anything that worries you or anything yo have doubts about--it will be noones businss about your doubts--so stay tuned flock--better things are coming--

Any "Miraculous" experience happen to you like the ones said at Conventions

i had to sit through those experiences at the convention, i was wondering, did any of you used to be one of those people on stage giving an experience about how something miraculously happened like getting the exact amount of money you needed to pay your rent on the day it was due?

i always hear the stories, but can anybody actually tell me something like this has happened to them when they were a good little witness?

and if it has, did these sort of "events" stop taking place after you left?

I knew of an "annointed" sister that was very poor. But she had been saving
her money for a better car. Well, she didnt have much saved up, just a couple
thousand, but while out on service she came across this man selling a luxury
automobile (mercedes or something), well she offered him the money she had
saved up, the man laughed at her and said that the car was worth lot more, but
she left him her phone number just in case. WELL, wouldnt you know it, he
called her that very same day and sold her the car for what she had offered.
Of course she said it was "jehoba looking out for his sheep, and blessing her efforts".
Devine Intervention?? i think not.. I call it being at the right place at the right time!

i thought i would give a quick bio of myself.

i was raised a dubber.

every stinkin' family member of mine is a jw including a huge extended family.

wow, what a heartfelt post. It seems you had some big shoes to fill in the
congregation. I know how hard it is to be dissconnected from family.
I was born and raised in as well, i have been out almost 3 years and still
ask myself those very same questions "who am i", it seems that it has always
been laid out for us, we were "suppose" to be this hardcore witness and never
question that. College or anything else was never an option for us, i knew that
from early. So, like you.. i am going back to school too.
Thank you for your post, too many here know all too well what you are feeling
and going through. I wish you the best, and i hope that you will be able to get
the answer to your questions.
As far as "fading"or DA-ing, you will know what to do when your ready. If you
want to try and keep your family close, then fading would be your option.
Either way, live life and be happy. I am so happy your wife left with you, you can
be such a wonderful support system for eachother. Good luck.. Oh, and

Finally, I found the REAL truth!

hello everyone, just wanted to say hello and let you know a bit about my story and tell you how thankful i am that i found this site!.

i was never a baptized jw although in the early 90's i studied for about 3 years and was an un-baptized publisher for about 1 year before my doubts about some of the beliefs and also my inability to overlook the constant hypocracy of the elders did me in.

sadly it was not before i dragged the love of my life into it, and also my sister (they are both baptized although she left after seeing the elders double standards when it came to doling out counsel/punishment to their own families, he is still in) anyway even though i couldn't bring myself to commit to the org because of the crap i saw going on in the 2 different halls i attended i still believed it was the truth...what an idiot!
