The Funeral
by purplesofa inas you all know my brother was buried yesterday.
he was 33......... he did this ..........17 years after his father commited suicide.
the funeral took place at the funeral home.......a witness elder did the funeral.....my brother is not a witness, but my mother is.

Girls help!!! What signs when a woman is interested in a guy?
by Spectrum ingenerally i find that if a girl is interested in me she makes it quite obvious by her actions and words.
i'm fine with this.
however there are times when a i really can't tell and this is the problem i'm grappling with at the moment.

Could be that living with you took the shine off a bit. Dirty underwear, filthy dishes, stinky bathroom. . .well, the honeymoon was over before she could fall in like with you . . .so now, being a good friend and a charming gentleman and picking up after yourself is probably your only chance. Showing what a great guy you truly are (if you truly are!) will take time, but probably the best way to get her long term interest. You are going to have to get her with your best qualities, not just your cute face or nice backside. And if not, maybe she has lots of nice girlfriends to introduce you to! Shelly

I am curious.Folks close to my age comprise the largest group. Do any of you think that is because people who were teenagers (like me) in the early 80's were ALL in youth WT studies and saw the article that excused the WT from 1975 speculation? I know that it raised a LOT of questions in my group-enough that they cancelled the youth WT study! That was a huge influence in my JW history.

Something struck me as kind of funny on the 3rd or 4th page of this thread. While considering the evidence and the timeline, some ex JWs here were saying 'Well, if she was 13 at this time and 23 at during that census than it definitely demonstrates that her age at the time of moving to Bethel would be 38 which is in agreement with the original statement that larc made." (not an actual quote, general impression) and it sounded SO Watchtower-y that I was LOL thinking that Fred Franz would probably consider it a 'fine' work that you all did in adding up the evidence:)

Does the divorcing reason matter if there is no re-marriage? Scriptural divorce simply implies that in the next marriage that one will not be committing adultery in the eyes of God, right? Or am I misunderstanding? No matter what the divorce is about, all one has to do is wait out the other guy/girl to have sex, in or out of marriage and they would be free themselves to remarry, wouldn't they?

When I was a kid I was at the same assembly as Michael Jackson, Met Phil Driscoll(Christian Trumpet Player), was at KFC in Fife,WA and some famous Hip Hop/Rapper types(forgot their name, but any kid would know) were eating there (doing a concert at the Tacoma Dome last summer)Debbie Macomber 2x(author), Met Maureen Reagan(R. Reagans daughter). Hmm. Not too impressive. I do live one county away from Bill Gates. . .does that count for anything? shelly

i've never officially dedicated myself to jehovah, but i was brought up in the truth, very strong, and at times when getting older, there were lulls in my attendance... yet to this day i still attend.

A sure foundation can be critically looked at, pulled apart and put back together again. Right now they love meetings-but if you took them to Sunday School or Hebrew School, they would love it too-if YOU were with them. The thing every child wants is to be with and to please their parents. And don't forget that as you face your own indecision about the organization-because leading them into an unquestioning acceptance of what IS a man made organization-and its teachings-will not make them strong, but will make them weak. If it is firm, you can shake it-you know? And it in NOT a reflection on you if the whole thing wobbles over when pushed a little. If all those who tell you it is truth really believe it, they won't get all defensive/offensive when you ask all the questions you need to ask-whether here online or in your cong. bookstudy!
