The WT is NOT being punished for the actions of one JW. The WT is being punished for their complicity in protecting the JW when they knew he was a danger to others. If the WT had done what THEY were required to, legally, morally, and ethically, they would not be punished. They are being punished for their own actions, not the rapists.

Jesus ,the son of GOD,on earth as a man,never wrote down his words of wisdom,message of salvation,only talked to a minority group,majority of what he preached was never recorded by observers,?

according to christendom/jehovah`s witnesses in particular , the greatest man who ever lived,had the means at his disposal,to write down everything he had to say for the benefit of all mankind ,jew and gentile,and he never availed himself of this priveledge .rather most of what he had to say, according to the bible, was lost,no one recorded all he spoke ..he was quite content to leave it up to a few, who would put his words to pen,many of which were not eyewitness accounts to his deeds.,but received the information secon-hand.
if the almighty god jehovah and his son jesus christ were in anyway serious, wouldn`t they have made this" so important" message available to all mankind ?

That Jesus lived, I accept fully. That he had good teachings-I accept fully. That he was the be all and end all and answer to everything-nope. The "gospel" that he preached to all is universally accepted as moral(the beatitudes, golden rule), but the stuff that he supposedly just said to his closest most intimate followers -not so credible. What would be the purpose of a message for the entire inhabited earth if he is just telling twelve guys about it? None of whom record it or report on it consistently? Tthe good stuff got out, but the dogmatic, "private" stuff has been manipulated and twisted to become messages of hate, division and antipathy. So what does that make Jesus? A prophet? Perhaps! But a man. Not a god. I think the truth of what is good in his message is clear and the interferance given by other men such as Paul is also clear.

I hated the prayers! HOW were they any less rote than the ones at the Catholic Church or that Muslims pray? If its repetitive, fine, but don't fool yourselves into thinking you are making some artful creative prayer every time simply because it isn't written already in a book. Heck, how many JWs grew up knowing the "Lords Prayer"? I didn't. A total cultural norm to know that and the beatitutudes and Psalms 119(all of it) or Psalms 23-but does any JW know those? NO. Pisses me off how scripturally and culturally ignorant I was!

It will be one of the straws on a lot of Jehovah's camels backs, but probably not the last one--for the parents. The teenagers though are going to narrow their eyes and call it BS cause they are freaking sick of the sanctimonious attitude at that point-even if they buy most of the crap information. So, it will definitely get some attention and in a few years, it will figure in a few outing stories, but I don't think it will have a starring role.

If your fading is working and your dad can live with it, carry on as you are and maybe lessen up even more. If he is old and feeble he's not likely keeping tabs on you in any case. Just love and care for him like a son should under any circumstances with a loving parent(I am assuming that). Unless you are forced to take him to meetings or something, I doubt it is hurting you too much to give the org some lip service.
Take care of yourself, your dad and the people you love. Don't kill your spirit to do it though for others. You need to remain whole.

perhaps it was a scripture that didn't really support the point being asserted in the paragraph or maybe it was an illustration that sounded good but wasn't completely parallel or maybe it was a line of reasoning that wasn't as conclusive or solid as the speaker/elder/co/wt publication made it out to be.
or maybe it was the excessive use of weasel words like, "evidently," "perhaps," "must have" and so on.

BOC : Hi, I was reading your interest in speaking with your wife-nuclear option? I don't know what you have done so far, but one thing that the OP spoke of was the weasel words. I think that you might want to use them as a tool. Find them in NON-JW literature/commentators and discuss their weaseliness(?).
Discuss the motivations that people have for using the "weasel" words and get an agreement from her : "Man, this commentator is sure using a lot of weasel words. He is very manipulative and thinks we can't see him for what he is! Does he think we are all stupid sheep?" I would make sure that this is something that she has some feelings about, not the local school board decision to stop making french fries or something. I notice that JWs may be "neutral", but they ALWAYS have an opinion:) Anyway, later on, she will see them in the literature and so will you-and you can point a couple out (after she understands fully the weasel word concept) and ask why the org. might be using (so many of) them. It's not nuclear, but it will start a reaction of one sort or another.

How did you long-timers do it before the internet / Ray Franz books / abundant information?
by irondork inwith all the tools and information at the disposal of newly awakened ones, it's still no easy task coming to terms with the magnitude of it all.
it still takes a lot of gut-wrenching time and effort to get to the point where you are sure you made the right decision to leave.. .
how did you long-timers (old-timers, respectfully) manage it without crisis of conscience, christian freedom, jwn, jwfacts, freeminds, access to thousands of fellow survivors with stories just like yours?.

I did have access to a large library of WT materials, including the interlinear. I also had access to regular Bibles and a great library. Towards the end I had access to Christian bookstore and they had a couple of brochures on the subject, but by the time I was wandering in Christian bookstores openly, I was out already:) Years later, Crisis of Conscience came out and I just gasped my way through a lot of it, but I was already out on the basis of their written record and common sense. (My family had been in the org for decades and collected just about all the old stuff until they figured out that it wasn't such a great idea with me around-and they disposed of it. Like porn:) )

Pyramids and Dates

many years ago the wt had written a lot about how many feet there were between certain parts of the pyramid as related to some dates given by the wt organization.
i don't know that any real bible student of that time had the opportunity to actually measure any part of the great pyramid-as it is in egypt.

by sizemik ina controversial coney island principal has pulled the plug on patriotism.. her refusal to let students sing god bless the usa at their graduation has sparked fireworks at a school filled with proud immigrants.. greta hawkins, principal of ps 90, the edna cohen school, wont allow kindergartners to belt out the beloved lee greenwood ballad, also known as proud to be an american, at their moving-up ceremony.. context: middle correlation photo five classes spent months learning the patriotic song, which skyrocketed in popularity after the 9/11 attacks and the 2003 invasion of iraq.it was to be the rousing finale of their musical show at the june 20 commencement.
the kids, dressed up for their big day, would wave tiny american flags which, as the lyrics proclaim, still stand for freedom.. but hawkins marched in on a recent rehearsal and ordered a cd playing the anthem to be shut off, staffers said.. she told the teachers to drop the song from the program.. we dont want to offend other cultures, they quoted her as explaining.. the curt edict stunned both staff and parents.. a lot of people fought to move to america to live freely, so that song should be sung with a whole lot of pride, said mom luz lozada, whose son, daniel, is in kindergarten.. the song has been sung at previous school events.
last years fifth-graders, including another lozada child, performed it at graduation.. everybody applauded and whistled, the mom said.
