Applewaite looks weirder, like an actual alien, even in repose. But Lett is weirder to watch while speaking and to listen to. Applewaites content was weirder.

“We are not done yet!” – Candace Conti reacts to appeal court decision
by Watchtower-Free inhttp://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/we-are-not-done-yet-candace-reacts-to-appeal-court-decision.
candace conti (pictured in her interview with abc) has spoken out for the first time about the appeal court decision.
as current and former jehovahs witnesses digest the news that watchtowers appeal against the candace conti verdict has faltered, albeit with the punitive element of the judgment reversed, candace has reacted for the first time by telling me: we are not done yet.. news spread on monday that the state appeals court in san francisco had upheld the $2.8 million compensatory damages in the original june 2012 verdict, but overturned the $8.6 million punitive award against watchtower.. the court decided that, though watchtower had neglected its responsibility to supervise known pedophile jonathan kendrick in field ministry, a church-sponsored activity, the organization had no duty to warn parents in the congregation that a pedophile was in their midst or report him to authorities.. an insightful report by investigative reporter trey bundy has suggested that the court reached its decision because the precedent set by the conti verdict might be too burdensome to enforce.. the burden would be considerable because the precedent could require a church to intervene whenever it has reason to believe that a congregation member is capable of doing harm, and the scope of that duty could not be limited with any precision, the judges wrote.. candaces attorney rick simons responded by pointedly telling bundy: they think in public policy terms that theres too much risk in broadening the churchs responsibility and liability so that it burdens what churches do.

A reliable and trustworthy financial advisor is a good idea (local credit union might be a good idea, combined with a recommended lawyer.)
Its a problem (the money part) that wouldn't be so bad to have except that statistically, it often isn't a long term boon.

I seized an opportunity to help my mother critically think today. This will just blow your mind
by joe134cd inok this is how the conversation went.. me= is cousin x (not jw) still going out with that arab guy.. mum=no.

LOL. Women in Arab world rarely GO to the mosque, but I get your point. Marrying into another culture is fraught with difficulty for anyone-they both will be better off, probably since mixing that with religious incompatibility is not a great idea unless both parties are very prepared for it and mature. And no offence, being an orphan can really facilitate that! -

"Be Kind to the Fornicators in the Congregation!" -- New August Watchtower
by FusionTheism inhave you noticed the article entitled "watch your associations in these last days" in the new august 2015 study watchtower?.
unless i'm reading it wrong, or somehow misinterpreting it, it is saying that we should be kind to intentional breakers of god's laws inside and outside the congregation, including fornicators, but that we must not be close associates with them.. are they already preparing for a shift in their disfellowshipping practices?.
here are the relevant paragraphs:.

If folks know that one is a fornicator (in the congregation) they can be kind, if not close associates, so long as they have not been DF'd, but if DF'd, (and no one necessarily knows why another is DF'd) then JWs should shun them (NOT kind).
Alrighty then.

Sikh man removes turban to help bleeding child
by konceptual99 ini think the lesson on the blood issue in this story is obvious.. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/hero-sikh-man-breaks-strict-5711701.

Normal folks do not even think twice about such a thing. Extremists die over symbols, normal ones don't die or kill over turbans, cartoons or religious dictates as determined and defined by men. Normal guy did the right thing . Good.

It is hard to be you! You have a lot of love for your family. Keep finding them good things outside of the org and promote happy things, good things and generous things. Your wife is not a happy person and the org. likely figures into some of her general malfunctioning. Has that ever been addressed directly or indirectly? -

How do I get the COBE to pay back the money he and his ripped off from my ex-wife, he's the guy who claims he make's Pedophiles Holy by YHWH's power!
by PhilsWager2 inthe cobe of the local kingdom hall never paid my ex-wife for the work done because they promised they would use "trade" to reimburse close to $5000 worth of work.
as you can imagine nobody here would like him because he believes all the pedophiles can change their ways after the child sex offenders have proved their humility by bowing before the judicial committees.
this is how honest jehovah's witnesses are, they changed her work from a 1200 sq.

Its all a little vague to me at this point. If there is a written contract, even if the legal statute has run out, it is something you could bring up to the elders-if you think it would do a darn bit of good. If you do think they would address this, then do it, but if you're expecting actual results from them, you kinda need to play by their rules-be very clear, be very polite, bring up scriptures whenever necessary to condemn whatever it is that happened. If he is breaking laws NOW, then just tell the local tax board (or whoever) and let them deal with it after that. You did your civic duty.
If your ex isn't going to pursue this against the elder dude, there is no chance that the elders or org will ever effectuate any correction. Men get off from pedophile charges when no one will testify because they are "brothers". So, just don't get your panties in a twist about any of this when it is actually out of your control. Help your ex if she wants it, but recognize the limitations. Report to govt, and then forget it.
Not sure what your relation is to the cong/org now, but if you're persona non grata, then just help the ex in a silent partner kind of way or you will hurt her more than help her.
Its saturday. Do something fun. Forget this stuff for now.

The org, it's money problems ans other stuff!
by username inhi there, although i have been a lurker here for a while now i've not yet posted a new topic, so here goes nothing lol.. i have been thinking a lot lately on all the changes and the branch visits, specifically the uk branch visit where apparently it has bean mentioned the great tribulation is about to start.. since i've not heard the full talk and only heard certain items from it i got to thinking that maybe this is the org's way of saying the watchtower is about to go down due to all the cover ups and the long list of discrepancies.. maybe i am way off the mark here, what does everone else think?.

Vidiot, do religions have tax exempt status everywhere? In the UK?
More importantly, why would that court case remove their tax exempt status?
