Its kind of different speaking to those who are interested in what you have to say, sharing and learning experiences, joking around, learning history and facts than it is to knock on the door of an unsuspecting householder who has no interest in speaking with you. And I am here cause I want to be-not because my organizationally trained-oops, bible trained conscience tells me I SHOULD be here. When I am sick I stay offline, not forcing myself to be here through hell or high water. Yeah, its different.

Can You Really Be Counted as an Apostate Publisher?
by Joker10 inpeople on this board have been been saying how they would never go door-to-door informing the public about their new jw views.
one reason, it has been said, is that jws would still be having an affect on them.
they don't want to spend their saturday mornings discussing the religion.

Was the Watchtower Society Justified in Disfellowshiping Some Individuals?

In the Bible, people were told to not mix with known sinners. They were also told to bring a persons sins to them personally before bringing the CONGREGATION into it. Then, there is no mention of a tribunal with 3 elders who are told information and no one else. The WAY that the WT disfellowships does not seem at all biblical.

They have some wonderful architecture and it is based in the fact that they won't make idols, so the designs of the buildings and interiors are very beautiful and have no dead bodies hanging on a cross nor fat smug little men or half human half animal statue/shrines filled with flowers and food. The simplicity is very beautiful.

Not good, not good at all
by lola28 inhi guys,.
sorry to burden you all with this but i really have no one that i want to talk about this with, i'm afraid that i will burst into tears and wont be able to stop if i call any of my friends and tell them what's going on.
my little sister has been ill with a fever for three weeks, her doctor kept telling her it was just a bad case of the flu and that she had an ear infection, he gave her antibiotics and sent her home.

Congratulations on your new little one and your little family.
I don't care if she booked her ticket. YOU are not stuck. Tell her to unbook it or reschedule it and if that is not possible, that she needs to stay somewhere for a couple weeks till you need her.
People are supposed to come at the birth of your child in support and to HELP, not for their own egos, not for their entertainment, convenience or fun or free room and board. It is about YOU and the BABY. It is NOT about her. And you might just need to tell her those hard truths. This is about your family. And with a little child and a new baby, you don't need someone like her around in any case. How much help is a flake? She has the potential to be the fun aunt, but hasn't quite figured out supportive friend.
Take care of you and your family. Your husband is in for the ride of his life-and you are going to have a whole new experience with all that husbandly and familial support. Have some brawny BIL get her out of the way if necessary:).

only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.
i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.

Anitar said:"In conclusion, I think God's message to us was to start thinking for ourselves. Even if you try to take the bible literally word for word, your brain won't let you! I don't mean to toss the bible out the window. But I think it was written for people who use thier brains, not the idiot JW's who are a complete waste of oxygen. So you don't have to believe what I say."
I may want to toss the Bible out of the window these days. I finally-after 25 years made the observations that you did about the Bible. I no longer believe it is inspired by God. I left the JWs still with the literal bible believer thing going on in me and NEVER would let it go until a few weeks ago. Kind of still figuring out what to do with the realization that the ONE fundamental thing I believed is not true. So where does it fit? I guess there is plenty of wisdom in the Bible and in other scripture(holy books). Trick is to separate the wisdom from the propaganda and manipulation. Its making me re-think God entirely. All I can do is go to God and say I am confused-if he doesn't really care, I'm no worse off. If he is a loving and concerned God, he understands. So either way. . .he knows our hearts. I wish it was easier to work through the BS. Shouldn't take a person with a decent IQ 25 years to figure this stuff out-to the point where all I really know is that I don't know anything!
I have a nutty mom too. sigh. You gotta love them-the WT sure doesn't!Take care.

I have liked a lot of churches that I have gone to, and would consider going to another if the fact that I don't buy into the Bible wouldn't bug everyone(I think, although apparently thats fine in mainline churches these days, so who knows?) I like the fellowship, community, charity and church suppers. If I could have the social and the nice stuff w/o the "you must believe this way or you are not one of us and therefore doomed to destruction(of their choice)" lectures, I would go to church.

Go buy some lottery tickets and see what happens. Then you will have some hard evidence as to the results of the opposing forces of luck.
