Hi, we are almost exactly the same age-if you aren't fibbing bout your age. I hope your day gets better and that whatever got you down is soon forgotten! Good luck, my friend!

Update on Grandson
by Undecided incan't believe what's going on over at the hospital where he and his family are.
his mother was acting out of her head and they found out she had pneumonia at the hospital yesterday and today my son, her husband was taken to the intensive care because of not breathing.
they both were there to be with their son who had his biopsy.

My cousins leukemia and treatment.
by JWdaughter inok, tonight i found out a family secret that only a few knew.
i had told my mom how i felt about the jw stance on blood, and mentioned how angry i was not knowing if my cousin could have been saved had he gotten a blood transfusion.
she finally told me tonight, when we were going to a seminar about lung cancer, that my cousin had indeed gotten a blood transfusion!

Bo Peep, I am sorry for the loss of your dad. Losing my dad was the hardest thing I ever faced so far.
My cousin was about 6 when he died. Same age as my daughter at the time. He would be about 17 now. Cute kid. He would look at his parents with those eyes-you know? Not understanding why his mommy and daddy couldn't fix it. And even with the blood earlier, I don't know that he was at all fixable. I pray none has to ever face that disease with a little child.

Fight like a disfellowshipped person. (scrapping hard)
by Sparkplug inlately i have been thinking.
there are things i want.
i am so tired of working so hard for goals just to watch the prize be taken by someone else who is only slightly interested in the finished product.

Decki, I was looking at your post and remembering that after a few days (really became weeks) in bed and on drugs :) I came to some conclusions that felt very life changing also. Pneumonia really did change my life. Made me look at things differently and re-evaluate. I have lots to figure out, but it is good to make that mental u turn or right turn or whatever and take a new look at your world.
Glad you are getting better.

Has anyone else heard about this North American Union?
by *jeremiah* inhas anyone else heard about this north american union?.
i've read a few online news articles about this,....has anyone else heard of this??
in brief: its supposedly where sometime in the very near future mexico, usa, and canada will come together in a similar manner to the eu.. thoughts?.

I don't believe that there will be any "amero's" (money for N.American continent) any time soon. As much as we all 'get along' there are too many basic individualities about our national character and laws. Great people in all the countries, different outlooks and attitudes. Not to mention the constitution. After some of the things that have happened lately, I think that it could not happen. We don't NEED to hook up with them, and Mexico needs to get itself together. Canada is great,as is Mexico, but whilst Canada has a similar lifestyle to what we enjoy in the US, they have some very different views and laws. Besides, where would all the US kids go to dodge the draft they are proposing?

Highly Recommend Chef Marc's High Heat Turkey Recipe
by JamesThomas infound here: http://www.chefmarc.com/index.
there are videos; and also go down to "other features" for written instructions.. i have followed his instructions the past two years for all the many turkeys baked, and they always come out crispy on the outside and superbly moist on the inside.. i also recommend doing a salt brine soak the night before baking: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/10-9-2001-5239.asp.
you'll love.

Best brand of turkey I have purchased (years now) is Honeysuckle White. It is always moist and good. There is a possibility that I simply learned how to make a good turkey, but I really doubt it. This brand is too consistent and if there is anything I am NOT, it is consistant.

Should I just say no?
by hambeak inmy partners brother is being released from state prison on 12/7 and jake has to go to huntsville to pick him up.
i am cooking a big thanksgiving dinner and his mom wants me to duplicate it when the a**hole gets home and cook a big dinner for x-mas too.
i get 1 day off a week and i am starting to resent being the fricking maid.

Hi, if you cook a nice dinner every SUnday for the parents, and don't resent it that much, just do the same one you would normally do and be a nice human(like usual) on that Sunday. The man has got to eat, and you are not being an enabler by feeding the family. You are are the same sweetie you always are. I hope the partner contributes to the dinner prep! Tell the bro to set the darn table. You don't need to go any more out of your way than you normally do(which seems like plenty already!)for this guy. Or anyone that is not your obligation. I am married and I would not support that kind of thing in a relative I loved. If you miss thanksgiving cause you are in prison, well that is one of the consequences of his actions, just like the last year and a half and the legal bills I hope he is paying till he's dead. You are not responsible for HIS consequences.

Hello, I am sorry that you are having such a sad day. That the good memories flooded you is so sweet. I don't know what led to it, but you seem to have the makings of a man who can learn from the hard times and not be bitter. I hope you are both kind to each other. Children deserve that even when their parents don't! I wish you well and very much happiness. While today is an end, it is a new beginning. Like new year.

Something happened at church yesterday
by lovelylil inso my hubby wanted to go to church yesterday.
it was a non-denominational one in the town next to ours.
i went along because he feels he needs a church to attend to keep him on the right track.

He was out of line. That is just as dumb as the JW way. Most churches offer Childrens Church/SS, but the church part has always been optional where I have attended-about 50% attended the 'adult' church, but it was optional if they wanted to go to the childrens service. Some families did not want to send their kids to the kids church, and some kids got to be a little more mature and felt silly going there. I hope it was just a lame usher and not the whole church attitude. Then again, look at what 6 million have put up with in the KH's!
