That it is so close could be an innocent coincidence. . . or IS it??? (as my daughter would say :) ) That they are so bent on re-branding themselves in the internet age leads toquestions. . . but seriously, if Jews wanted a conspiracy to make money, isn't the WTS kind of small potatoes? And a lot of trouble to administer? Those folks are a PITB. Don't the poor Jews have enough grief?

Is their a new holocaust in the making ? Are jews being made the scapegoats again ?
by smiddy inmass immigration in the world "seems" to have led to a rise in anti -semitism in the west.
france now has more than six million muslims.. germany now has four million muslims.
the netherlands has almost one million muslims .

I don't know what you consider to be an "islamist" but most MUSLIMS are not out killing Jews, nor do Muslim as a rule hate Jews. Considering the numbers, if that was the goal, there would not be any Jews left in the world. That there are not very MANY Jews left in the world can be chalked up to people in Christian lands.
There are 14 million Jews in the world and 1.6 billion Muslims. Even accounting for gross incompetence, that would be pretty do-able if that was the goal. It is not! Considering the Jews among my own family, I'm grateful for that personally.

Said from the platform: "You are not surviving Armaggedon if you are spiritually weak"
by Daniel1555 intoday i was at the meeting (i go there about once a month now).
in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".
our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.

Jeez. Jesus called 70-not EVERYONE. Paul visited congregations and he was not telling them about how to get their hours in. They're so full of BS that we should send the org (and that elder) toilet brushes.

I doubt that many people find that many attractive young householders in a year of pioneering and certainly not that many people opening the door in one morning. Where is his partner?
Its a cute video. He is just deluded and young. He will start clueing in soon enough. Keep him in your kind thoughts. Someday he will cringe thinking about this video.

Who Really Profits from the WTBTS?
by Freedom77 inlike they say in the movies, "follow the money.
" the thought occurred to me the other day - the wt scam rakes in billions of dollars, and yeah some of that goes to operations and equipment.
but bethelites at farm and factory get only a bare little dorm room and a monthly pittance.

If anyone knows John Grisham-in his stories, there are always convoluted plots going on and people scamming money in ways that they are getting away with and without one or two intrepid attorneys, would get away with impunity forever.
Do plots like Greshams exist in the real world or are they the inventions of conspiracy theorists? I agree that it sure looks like a lot of money with nowhere to go. There is an interesting phenomenon though-all the people that leave the org usually tell what they know. They must have a large accounting and financial department-why don't any of THOSE bethelites quit or get DF'd?
Which brings me to the question to ex bethelites-do they do that inhouse or do they send it outside the org folks altogether? Cause it seems to me, no matter how honest they were, if there were JWs involved, any who left would be telling. Most of us have authentic crappy experiences with the WT, but we will also admit to things that aren't' categorically awful. Some of us have some good memories, or knew authentically good and kind folks. So, it seems that if any JWs had been working in that area, that some would have SOMETHING to say-good, bad or indifferent-if they managed their money in house to any degree.
Unless they are paid very well to never speak. . . ? I don't know. Got any other ideas, folks?

Why are 'most' of the people fighting in the Middle East MEN???
by NAVYTOWN init seems that in every war or revolution, 'most' of the participants are men and young boys.
aside from the occasional female suicide bomber.
does this have something to do with their religion and/ or cultural traditions?
-

Doesn't matter which nation or group is fighting, the vast majority of the fighters are men. In any country. Every culture.
FYI, one of my friends from Pakistan recently moved here and married. She was a captain and had full authority over men. And she told me that it was respected and no one treated her with any disrespect. Military law was NOT messed with. She is now married to a man from here and is a homemaker, she is absolutely a stunningly gorgeous woman and this, her only marriage, happened when she was just over 30. Don't generalize too much about miitary service (or about women in the ME for that matter)
Women are "allowed" out of the home in the ME. I lived there for years.
Women can go out of the house without men-and they do. I traveled all over the ME alone many times and was safe-and I always knew that if I needed help, I knew I would get it for the asking. I stayed in hotels and apartments alone, shopped alone and did business with service providers and accepted deliveries, hired drivers, enrolled in classes.
There are a lot more people in the M.E. who are victimized by the wars and battles, they aren't the causes of it, they are stuck there. Where do you think those in Gaza or Israel are going to 'escape' to? You only need a few people to start trouble in any place and they can drag everyone right along with them-most of the folks you see are just trying to survive being born into a situation that they have no escape from, no matter what their feelings about any issue. Its a tiny country. No one gets out of it unscathed.
When war lands in your yard, are you all going to just accept your home and livihood to be taken from you, bit by bit? Or bomb by bomb? Forget the politics, if we were invaded by Russia or China, we wouldn't care much who was a democrat or republican, liberal or conservative.
Sorry, got OT. My husband is listening to the news right now about Palestine/Israel and Im a little upset for all the families (Israeli, too) who are being harmed by this whole situation since 20 years before I was born. No end in sight. Stupid.

I didn't see this when it first was posted, but the one thing that may help the accuser is that those at the KH were told. I don't believe that it is a good idea to convict folks on hearsay alone, but sometimes the story isn't that simple. It seems that some judicial action may have taken place. I don't know. I am curious about if there has been any progress on the case.

I always wish they'd try to engage me in conversation. They never do. Even when they come to the door, they won't talk to me cause I speak English. My husband had a visit right after we moved in and was very friendly and kind and they never came back. 5 mos and counting.

Is The WTS Building Beth Sarim 2 ?
by metatron ini continue to puzzle over the future direction the watchtower is taking.
it seems very strange.. let's review: they are selling everything off in brooklyn, raking in huge sums from that real estate and building heavily in a fairly isolated part of upstate ny.. why?.
it may be classified as a country club (legally).
-
JWdaughter
I was reading an article about the sell off and the fact that really, the 3000 people who are headed out of Bethel will barely be missed if indeed, missed at all. I knew they were downsizing, but I am reading that they will have 800-1000 at the new site. That is a LOT of downsizing. $200 million for the new place vs the billion+ that they are getting for Brooklyn. . . well, it does beg some inquiry about what they are doing with the rest.
I see them consolidating halls and selling a lot of them. The one I grew up with had one cong, then split when I was 8 or so and later on had 3 congregations. Now they are down to 2 again. My aunt goes to a nearby one(that could be given as a reason that they are now only 2) that had grown to have 5 congregations in it-and will be down to 3 soon with consolidations.
I know they are not growing, and I know they are putting as many cong. as they can in a building, but it seems that they are contracting faster than the uterus of a woman who just gave birth. Like a deflated balloon-so, they can keep selling halls and building newer, nicer ones in the states and making them more inconvenient as to time and location. Further decreasing the reasons to go,no matter how pretty it is. Then they empty, get sold. . . .do they even NEED the congregations to grow anymore? They have so much money, they could run an increasingly small organization on the income from the present congregations (and sales of KH's) without ever touching their capital! They could say any kind of crap (and clearly are doing so) and STILL the sheep follow them loyally. They could do this until literally the end of time, have basically NO JWs left but the ones at Warwick/Tuxedo and they could just live however they pleased and do what they pleased as the org just dwindles into further obscurity. Think "Shakers". There'sabout 3 of them left. It will take longer for the WT movement to die off entirely, but I think it is headed in the same direction as the Shakers, only with much uglier furniture.

Good news! The JWs need a "smaller location". Wonder what happened to all the folks that built the property that was too big?
