  yep, thats right, haunted.

  i have never had a dwelling place with so many unexplained noise and goings on.

  lights that have been turned off, magically turn back on and visa versa.

  Interesting that every single "anecdote" on the thread can be easily explained via purely physical means. Perceptual distortions, tricks of the mind, overactive sensory cortex.

  The simple reality is that people WANT to believe in the supernatural, so, rather than using the simplest explanation, a "supernatural force" is invoked, for which there is no evidence, no documented proof, nor any logical explanation.

  Perception is driven my motivation. If you WANT to believe something badly enough, I assure you, your brain will generate illusory "evidence" to support these constructs. That does not make them "real". Read the "Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan if you want a balanced view of the illusory world of the supernatural and the underlying reasons why such perceptions are constructed by the human mind.

  today, while at doctors appointment i met a lady in the waiting room and i just wanted to relay her story.

  she was eighty-two years old and sharp as a tack.

  we were exchanging pleasantries while waiting our turn to get in when she told about her four children.

  someone asked me a question.

  if you found yourself in 1939 sitting next to hitler, gun in hand and with no repercussions at all for yourself would you....................shoot him...........knowing all that he was going to do.. it really made me think..............first i said straight away yes, then no.

  then after thinking about it for a while, i really didnt know.. could i physically shoot someone , even though i knew he would murder and torture millions of people?.

  No. Because Goebbels, Himmler or Hess would have gladly stepped up to the plate, and the outcome would have been the same. The holocaust was not the result of one individual. Its absurd to suggest killing one man would have prevented it.

  wow you guys really made me think with the response to my faith topic, i was just arguing with a friend today over israel and invading lebabon and he quoted all the bible scriptures to me trying to show me that, israel were the chosen people of god and how god allowed them to go in and slaughter the canninties (first recorded insident of genocide) including killing small children, and i asked is that what christ jesus died for so god could order the slaughter of babies for the jews?

  so you are saying that not only is god a racist, but not a god of love as well?

  if god created all of us from the dust why would he love one race more than another?

  I wonder how you would react JH, if jack-booted soldiers occupied your town, kicked you and your family out of your house, bull-dozed over it, and built a settlement over the land your family had owned and lived on for hundreds of years?

  This is the modus operandi of israel. They are ILLEGAL occupiers of Palestinian lands, using some biblical BULLSHIT to justify their own brand of terrorism, which is fully sponsored by the US. Israel has about as much moral authority as the Third Reich and are reaping the consequences of their criminal occupations. They have been "chosen" by no one, and have no more legal rights to Palestine than the former Arab populations.

  Amen, Ross. I have never really understood the concept of the "good-bye" thread either. First, in many cases, people do continue to post long after their "final" farewell thread. People come and go, but I'm not a huge fan of the "swansong" concept, unless you're Frank Sinatra on some "farewell" world tour. LOL. Reminds me of the annual "Rolling Stones Farewell Tour" which they have been having since the mid-80s. LOL

  Second, I think a spate of good-bye threads stated with such an air of finality may give the impression to lurkers that we are somehow "shutting down", one-by-one, which certainly is not the case. IMHO, folks should stick around, post when they can even if you cant post as much as before due to career changes, scheduling, etc. Keep the board hopping and alive, welcome the newbies, lets increase the "emperor class" here on JWD and remember that when we post, we are providing a voice to the ex-dub community and cause.

  I think there are a variety of reasons. I'm sure in the majority of cases its simply a practical matter of not having any time. Some people really do get tired of dwelling on ex-JW matters. Indeed, there is only a small "core" of regular posters here on JWD as the vast majority of newbies disappear within a few days or weeks.

  Personally, I dont think of this as "just an ex-jw board", just going through the threads reveals that we have discussions way beyond watchtower issues. Politics, philosophy, science, entertainment, the list goes on and on. I just post because I enjoy the board in general. I am way beyond having any concern whatsoever about the borg, but lets face it, it makes an amusing topic of conversation from time to time. The board is constantly in flux, which is a good thing.

  where do i begin?

  well let's see i'm 24yrs old and since i was 5 i've been taught ''the truth'' i remember going to the hall when i was a little girl with my grandmother i attended did the bible study and i learned a lot and i'm greatfull even though i'am no longer in the religion i grew up like everyone else saw and learned a lot of other things of this world none which have made me belive anything i have found myself asking lately what is happening with this world?

  why doesn't doesn't jehovah do something and stop the pain for everyone?
