Did demons ever really rape some sisters?

i had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.

in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.

anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

what types of things are you aware of?

so far i've got...... red lip stick (allegedly invented to distinguish prostitutes from non-prostitutes).

explaining my jehovah's witness past to a potential mate all things considered, this is the one thing that bothers me tremendously.. so much so, that it has kept me out of the dating scene let alone to be.

First, JWs neither teach nor apply "high moral standards", so that is the first misconception you need to let go. JWs simply pervert normal, healthy human sexuality into something "sinful" and "immoral". There were more teen-age pregnancies and underage sex going on in my old circuit then there were in my "wordly highschool". This is what happens when you are brainwashed to believe that all expressions of healthy sexuality are evil and sinful. You need to de-program the Watchtower inculcation against everything normal and healthy in a human sexual relationship. You are 39. The best years of your life are slipping away. You have some serious shagging to catch up on. Like all good things in life, just practice safety and take it slow. Even if you dont want to engage in sex before marriage, there are plenty of women out there that would be likely to find this OK.

Second, avoid ex-JWs. One ex-JW has enough emotional baggage let alone two ex-JWs. Find a nice, well adjusted "worldly" girl to get involved with. Finally, if there is real chemistry, the person will not care less about your religious background. In fact, most non-JWs find it rather interesting to hear the tales of us ex-JWs as we attempt to re-integrate into normal society.

if he were alive today, what would he think of the watchtower society, 2006?

Charles T. Russell and the Pyramid Measurements

there is more the the story of russell and the pyramids than has been told.. russell came up with his chronology before he became interested in the great pyramid, and attempted to use the pyramid measurements to collaborate his chronology!.

he obtained the necessary internal "measurements" he required from a diagram of the pyramid included in the book by charles piazzi smyth!.

needless to say, the numbers obtained from such "measurements" were not accurate enough to be used in any prophetic calculations, so the source of these numbers was "obscured".. an attempt to indirectly "validate" the use of these numbers in russell's book, thy kingdom come was made by publishing within the book a kind letter written by charles smyth himself for the prepublication copy that was sent to him.. this was all an attempt to obscure the shaky foundation of the whole matter.. it was deliberately done, and shows that intellectual honesty was not a primary concern of charles t. russell.. now if he didn't actually write the pyramid chapter in his book, that might make matters different, although as the listed author he still had the responsibility of maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the contents of the book.. here is an interesting article about how the pyramid's measurements actually were changed when the 1910 edition of the thy kingdom come was published.. http://www.neirr.org/pyramidscheme.htm.

In the original edition, of which I have an original printing, Russell repeatedly points to "1915" in both the text and diagrams as his end date.

He also emphasized "1910" as a crucial year in which the churches would come under "fiery" persecution. His emphasis on 1910 was eventually forgotten

as a significant prophetic date.

well.........here i am, a few pints of guinness further on and it got me thinking.. i luuurve guinness with a passion but what could i never give up in a month of sundays?.

hmmmmmm...well it's definitely not alcohol....i don't think .

for me, it's my music, my george lowden guitar (damn i've blown my cover) and all the amazing vibes that playing, singing and songwriting gives me.. what could you not give up...........in a month of sundays.. peace.

JW takes it up the keester

i was able to find another group of jw's doing the big tract this morning.

i found it hard to get the 50'ish something lady to stop and talk to me, she was in such a hurry to get her 50 tracts done for the day.

no bookbag, no bible- just a vinyl folder with tracts.

Did you get the new tract?

just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.

did anybody get it left in their doors/mailboxes?.

With the majority of responses thus far in the negative, I would be curious to see how active JW lurkers perceive the undeniable inefficiency of their silly little "campaigns".

For the record, there are J-dubs about 2 blocks from my house that have book-studies every thursday....now you'd think they could walk 2 blocks to work my street? LOL......Not that I want them too.....
