  Leaving the meeting early

  why is it that when ever you would leave the meetings any earlier then when they were all done...did you feel like everyone was watching you or even sometimes guilty?

  sometimes, i would leave at 'halftime' (at the second song) either to go to work or just because i was having trouble dealing with the b.s.

  and of course everyone was nosey and would ask my elder dad after the meetings where i went as though i was off to commit some horrible crime.

  When we had to leave after the first meeting or arrive late for the 2nd meeting only, my Mom made us go in one at a time, in the hopes that it would look less obvious if we all sauntered in or out in a group....At the kingdumb hall, its all about keeping up appearances.

  A Bad experience with JW is a permit for SIN?

  i've been reading some sad experinces here... i dont see anyone talking about the bible... only how misserables the organization made their lives... ok ...so because of that...now i have permission to smoke marijuana and commit fornication?

  this sounds pretty much like aa... and everybody having his/her personal "superior power" who is giving them the permit to do whatever they want...

  i've been df for 4 years now and also dont agree with some jw teachings... why instead of blaming the wt for everything dont we look for the real truth in the bible and make things right.

  Agnostic or Atheist?

  for all of you non-religionists out there: do you consider yourself an agnostic or atheist, and why?

  it seems many ex-jws that "loose the faith" have a tendency to go straight for atheism.

  i myself, would consider myself more of an agnostic, as i believe we have no real way of knowing if there is a god one way or the other, and it tends to seem just as extreme to me, to insist that there is not one.

  COFFINS in the Kingdumb hall.....

  i recall going to several jw funerals as a small kid where the coffin had been brought into the hall, a service that must have been provided by.

  the funeral parlour.

  however, since the early 80s, i have never again attended a jw funeral with a casket present in the hall.

  Did the WTS change some formal policy about this? Is there now an "anti-coffin" policy in effect for JW funerals?

  Certainly vitually all other religious funerals I have attended had the casket brought to the church, and

  either opened or closed during the eulogy.

  "JWS are warned (cautioned) about higher learning (INSTITUTIONS, not college courses) because pursuing the HIGHER education that takes yrs of study and dedication can and alot of times cause individuals to FORGET about God.   "That is not the same thing as someone who believes you can disprove god (which is impossible)."

  Active negation and disproving a concept are two entirely different things and my statements did not conflate these two themes. Atheism is still an active negation, and does not require evidence in either direction.
