Imagine a KH with a bar....
by lfcviking init would be great wouldn't it?
if there was a room at the back of the hall that had a bar with a selection a fine handpulled ales & spirits.
the lights were lowered slightly, and some background tunes (not kingdom melodies) were playing, and there were some nice cosy chairs to lounge in.. after the meeting you could and have a few pints and have a laugh about how boring crap someones talk was.

Not sure that's accurate.
It's always been claimed that there have been anointed ones though.
Any references?

Problem is, with all those thousands of singles being thrown at you, who's gonna pay for the cost of the assemblies?

Accessibility to guns to blame for violence?
by 5thGeneration inwith all the talk about the increased violence in schools and among society, it still surprises me that the accessibility to guns argument often tends to trump the cultural argument.. maybe i'm out of touch but showing saw iii uncut on hbo at 10pm and releasing the most violent video games in history and the marketing of violent and perverse music, these are the things to me that desensitises young people first and then may trigger some hurt and unstable kids long before they go and buy a gun.. okay, ready to be blasted (pardon the pun)!.

I stand corrected. I'll reword it.
You can't mandate people to GET an education.

STRATEGY TIP: Put a face on Armageddon victims.
by Open mind incultivating some level of friendship with clearly decent "worldly" people is a great way to get a jw to see the horrific nature of the official jw view of armageddon.
it's so powerful that my wife says she doesn't believe jehovah will kill roughly 6 billion at armageddon.
at the same time she somehow still believes the preaching work is "life saving".

It's true, and I've thought it before, that techincally the Brothers should applaud when tragedy strikes. 9/11, the tsunami, Katrina, etc., these should all be applauded because all of those people's deaths paid for their sins. IT IS WACKY! Brain dead JWs wouldn't be able to see this logic though.
As for your situation, if you're going to, I really think you should word it just like you did to us.
But remember, their force fields will still come up no matter what you say.

30 minute talk = guilt tactic?
by 5thGeneration inthis has probably been talked about but my wife went to this morning's meeting and she usually comes home after the talk.. she isn't home and it hit me that it's way harder to leave after only 30 minutes.. ahhh, shaming the flock into staying for the wt.

it sounds interesting i have found some sites that sell it though it is expensive and i have seen sites that explain the benefits of the processing.
i discussed it with a couple of people and they said they wouldn't try it but i might but i wouldn't spend the money for it, lol.
