NO LONGER SATISFIED AS I WAS, WITH JWD FORUM

no this is not another { i am leaving this forum }.

it is just that i no longer am so hungry for the many posts as i once was.

i could not wait to get home and sign on to read all the posts from newbies and the heavy hitters.

Take a little time off if you need to but chances are you'll be back when you are ready. After more than 1,800 posts, you just may be due a little vacation. All the old timers and us newbies will be here when you get back. I'm a newbie to posting here but not new to reaching out online to JWs and former JWs with the vital info we all need like the UN issue. I have been busy for bout 7 years. I get burned out sometimes too and take breaks. This forum and other places like ex jw chat rooms provide us with such much needed validation and support.

confusion

i am going through a difficult time with my feelings on things.

i have a really good friend that helps me with research she has done in regards to "is this the true religion", but has anyone else out there been so torn that even with evidence one way or another in front of you, you still feel empty when you think of not having the 'truth' in your life?

i have 3 children and was raised in the 'truth' so was my husband.

Hi welcome to the board!

I too have three children who have three children now. They are grown. Trust yourself and relax. I do wish I knew then what I know now. Just relax and enjoy your life, enjoy your children. Continue to research and learn. I spent about three years just studying in between taking care of the kids. I am very happy where I am now, content, joyful, at peace. The journey was tough at times but you will get there.

in the may 1, 1988 watchtower, on page 22, a witness, matsue ishii, recalls her first encounter with the bible students in 1928: at the back of our house in tojo-cho, osaka, there was a house with a sign: "osaka branch of the international bible students association.

" assuming it to be a christian group, i visited the house.

I was surprised one time to get the Awake magazine and see the wife of an elder on the cover. She was a close friend of my family. She was on the cover being glorified for surviving child birth hemorage as I recall by being put into a hyperbaric chamber. She really was a sweet lady. Her psycho husband elder was a another story. This came out in the 80ies.

What was NOT in the article was WHY she had problems with her childbirth. One reason is she had WAITED past her childbearing years because Armegeddon was coming. They didn't say how she and her psycho elder husband had insulted others like my baptized sister for having children before Armageddon. There was great big hole missing in that story.

i must say, i never thought that i would see the day when i would find a site about disillusioned (mostly) jehovah's witnesses, but low and behold...one truly exists.

first let me start off by saying thank you to the creators of this site, and i'll have you know that i've been lurking for several days now and i am just finding the time to finally log on.

i've been a member of the borg for over 20 years now, been baptised for about 14 of those years and now i find myself in the most unusual of places.

I so agree with you about the kids being bored. For me at nine it was torture to sit through the same stuff. I would look at the clock and swear the arms had not moved. Thankfuly my third child was born ADHD and trying to take him to the Hall and sit ...well it wasn't going to happen. I tried. This one "sister" gave him a candy to try to appease the little dynamo, by the time it was over he had gotten so stressed he barfed all over and nerves were rattled. I was chastized. So what was the point of going when all I did was chase a hyperactve toddler around the parking lot? Thankfuly it gave me more time to sort through the Bible and question more. I was not going to beat my children into submission with wooden spoons in the bathroom.

As a child what teachings scared you?

as a child i was raised as a jw as was my wife.

the other day we were discussing some of the things that we were.

taught or discussed at the meetings that scared the hell out of us as children.

For me it was having my fingernails pulled out. Armagedon was coming in a few years which meant the persecutions had to start soon. I would obsess on how anyone could bear that pain since I was a nailbiter from childhood and when I would bite down so far it really hurt. I was afraid I would forget to scream when they came to rape me. Imagine that, being raped and disfellowshipped for not screaming. I was afraid of the elders. After being forced into the back room for interogation to bear false witness against a friend that I kept refusing to do, the interogation continued. The demons. They were everywhere. In under around over...always there.

I think I am having a blond infarction trying to understand that. Maybe it is not a bad thing that it doesn't make sense. None of it ever really did. They change the rules of Greek Grammar as it fits the need.

disfellowshipped for gluttony?

hello jwd board community.

just wondering.. has anyone ever heard of a person being disfellowshipped for the terrible sin of gluttony?

isn't it ranked right up there with drunkeness, adultery, murder, etc.?.

Before Armageddon hit in 1975 there were rumors that the psycho ex acid freak elder wanted to initiate disfellowshipping for gluttony in the Torrance KH. I guess he didn't get the ok from whomever an elder needs to get the ok from.

This one JW lady was so strange to me. I was about 11-13 yrs old and she would drink glass after glass of wine daily. She said she had to because she had a three foot long worm in her stomache. She was serious. I couldn't figure out why she just didn't go to the doctor and have it removed????

No part of this world?

i understand that the wts has investments, stocks, real esate, mortgage company, car sales, finance company, publishing company, and i am sure they have other interest that i dont know about.

how can they say they are no part of this world?

they make a big deal that they dont vote in elections, but isnt having all these investments in business just as bad?

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society are as much a part of this world as air is. The leaders don't believe what they print and this is just another example.
