Bee Population
by onlycurious inhas anyone heard about the new scare about the decline in the bee population?.
i guess the bees are not returning to the queen bee and they are dying.
trying to figure out why this is happening but if it doesn't turn around, all of us will be 'starving' in 4 years.

I am still a little stunned about the whole immorality issue. Apparently a person is not able to think on their own unless they have sinned. It is amazing to me that the immediate "out" to excuse my attitude is sin. "He is running from his sin." How transparent is that? Noone will ever leave the dubs if they 1st don't sin. That is probably the most telling and enlightening thing to come out of this. Think about it. It is very similar to what happened to Eve and Adam. They disobey, so suddenly they realize they are naked. I do not believe, therefore I must have sinned. If that is all it took to get my mind right, I would have done it years ago and never stopped. I have a wife and kids. I will not lose them for something so unimportant as immorality.
According to the bible, we are all sinners just by way of having been born. Sooo... the argument used is rather silly. But, they always assume that, don't they? If someone leaves, it must be because they've sinned!
My opinion is that the sect's rules are so draconian that one can't help but "sin". And the "sins" become so unnaturally magnified!
It's horrific.

If you would have won lots of money playing lottery as a JW...
by JH inimagine if you would have won lots of money playing the lottery, while being an active jw, how would you have wiggled your way out of it?.
would you have admitted playing and winning, or invented a story that you inherited lots of money or would you have just moved elsewhere where no one knows you, and you would have lived a very comfortable life still as a jw, or would you have simply quit being a jw?.

Daystar I dont want to alarm you but it no longer is the weekend. You sure she is coming back?
Well, she drove, so she needed to take an extra day. She should be back tonight. It's just unbelievable how her being gone for even this short period of time has affected me.
It makes me feel weak. But it also makes it very clear to me just how meaningful she is to me.

It's very lonely here without her. I miss seeing her smile, hearing her voice, smelling her hair, feeling her touch... and, it's only been three days.
So much for strength and independence, huh? She has me so very hooked...

Well, my family was not exactly regular in service. We attended all meetings for the most part, but Sat. service was hit or miss.
When my parents insisted we go out in service, I absolutely hated it.
When we didn't, I had a blast. Watched Saturday morning cartoons nearly until lunchtime, then played outside for the rest of the evening.

How can I get the visits to stop without being forced to disassociate myself? Has anything worked for you?
They're probably trying to figure out where you stand. If you do happen to actually speak to an elder, I suspect they'll eventually be asking you that one key question that will get you marked for certain. Something like "Do you believe JWs are the earthly representative of Jehovah" or something like that. Someone else here can probably provide the exact phrasing.
I don't know how you might get the visits to stop without DAing yourself. I think their goal is to either get you to come back to the meetings, or determine if you should be DA'd, etc.
