Because how else could they diffuse the true message of the bible without commentary upon commentary upon commentary?

Why One "Inspired" Bible...but endless "literature" about it?
by upside/down in"christians" are so proud of their one bible... the most widely distributed...blah blah blah...and thus it must be "god's" word.... yet the wts (in particular) is constantly producing new "literature"...why?.
can't they comment on what they "know" about a certain scripture and leave it at that...i mean how much real "new light" is there?.
they just rehash the same old crap over and over.... cheeezus...print one book...and then just "revise" it as needed... oh wait...i thought they had one book...the bible.... why do the interpretations need interpretation...???.

I am not;
- a condemned apostate. Certainly not an apostate of God.
- disfellowshipped
- a hater of Jehovah
- a hater of Jesus
Perhaps, but if your words oppose the those of the WTS to any large extent, a person like defd will assume the worst. And at that point, everything that proceeds from your mouth will be suspect as you are then a pawn of Satan, the father of the lie.

Worse than death?
by 5thGeneration inone society thing that drives me crazy is trying to scare us by quoting the scripture about one who knows the truth and leaves is worse off than others who have never known the truth.. question: if every non-jw is going to die at armageddon, how can someone who leaves be worse off?

The Flat Earth Society, at least, is real. What I have never heard from anything I've read of them is a motive for "them" to back a round earth, if untrue. Once a group makes outlandish claims without any backing evidence, the kook-alarms start going off for me quite easily.

Possible Witnesses or Potential Converts? Should I Ask?
by Country Girl indown the road from my home is a small country store.
this is the only store for miles either way on this road.
it was owned previously by a neighbor, and has been in his family for several years.

If you care about your fellow man, you should at least make an inquiry. Act interested until you find whether or not they are Witnesses. If they are, well, warning will probably not do much good. I would leave it. If they are not, you should certainly forewarn them to research the religion outside of the WTS publications before becoming entrenched.

Anyone pronouncing the wicked one righteous.........
by defd inand anyone pronouncing the righteous one wicked-even both of them are something detestble to jehovah, says proverbs 17:15. amid a world that is becoming entrenched in its opposition to god, it would be wise for us to look at our own attitude and values.
periodically, we should examine ourselves to make sure we are not gradually drifting away from jehovahs thinking and standards.
we might for example ask ourselves: have i become more tolerant of practices that god condemns?

We might for example ask ourselves: Have I become more tolerant of practices that God condemns? Am I inclined to take spiritual matters less seriously than I did in the past? Does the way I live show that I put Kingdom interest 1st in my life? Such reflection will help us to resist the spirit of the world.
I find that I have become mush less tolerant of practices that God condemns. I find that God condemns many current JW doctrines and practices.
I find that I take spiritual matters just as, if not more, seriously than I did when a JW. I just know much, much better what "spiritual" means. JWs haven't a clue.
Luke 17:20-21 "Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."
Such reflection has helped me to resist the spirit of the oppressive, false prophet, the WTS.
The exact scripture, without your paraphrasing, says "1 Anyone pronouncing the wicked one righteous and anyone pronouncing the righteous one wicked—even both of them are something detestable to Jehovah. "
So I say.

Insecure posters
by misguided ini wonder if it's just me, or if other posters are like this.
do any of you start to type a post, then hit the back button, or quit your post because your afraid of saying something stupid or "wrong," or reread some of your previous posts and wonder, what you were thinking when you posted it?.
i find most people on this board more than willing to accept you for whatever you say in a post, but i still frequently shy away from hitting that 'submit post' button.. rose (pushing the submit button before chickening out again)

"self, did you have tour day's meds?" and what exactly is a "tour day"?
I think that it's safe to assume that tour=your since the T and Y are so close on the keyboard.

You have it right in that it's usually due to insecurity. The only time I tend to start a post and then cancel it is when I decide it is really not worth my time. I don't cancel a post because I'm afraid of consequences. You should be yourself, good, bad and everything in between.

Wicca information...
by Quentin inmy daughter renee wishes to practice wicca, as she feels it is where she needs to be spiritually.
this is serious business for herit is not a whim, or passing fancy.
she did some internet research and began observing some of the things she found: phases of the moon, burning certain candles for various situations and so forth.

Most of the other Wiccan references seem okay. I've read, studied, or otherwise perused most of them. However, I would suggest staying away from anything by $ilver Ravenwolf. She is a charlatan, IMNSHO.
