- I remain out of the semantic argument over what constitutes a "cult". It's pointless. The WBTS is at very least a corrupt, high control religious sect with very damaging dogmatic apocalyptic beliefs. If it's not technically a "cult" in some person's opinion, that does not lessen the degree to which it is a thoroughly screwed up sect that destroys lives. That being said, my initial reaction to discovering the generation change was utter disbelief. It seemed as if this would be a new religion if that was changed. I was shocked, but I'd been out for four years, so I just filed that piece of info away.
- See above.
- I didn't need to do much. The generation change was enough. Later, the UN/NGO scandal solidified it. After, all the info in the news, silentlambs, here, etc.

Raumpatrouille Orion
by VM44 inhas anyone seen the television program raumpatrouille orion?
it was shown on german television about the same time the original star trek was first shown on american television (circa 1966).
i understand that despite only lasting seven episodes it has achieved somewhat of a cult status in germany.. --vm44.

Things like this always makes me think of the Discordian "Law Of Fives".
From a wikipedia article discussing Discordianism:
The Law of Fives is summarized on page 00016 of the Principia Discordia:
- The Law of Fives states simply that: ALL THINGS HAPPEN IN FIVES, OR ARE DIVISIBLE BY OR ARE MULTIPLES OF FIVE, OR ARE SOMEHOW DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY APPROPRIATE TO 5.
- The Law of Fives is never wrong.
The Law of Fives includes the word "Five" five times.
Like most of Discordianism, the Law of Fives appears on the surface to be either some sort of weird joke, or bizarre supernaturalism; but under this, it may help clarify the Discordian view of how the human mind works; Lord Omar is quoted later on the same page as having written, "I find the Law of Fives to be more and more manifest the harder I look."
Appendix Beth of Robert Shea's and Robert Anton Wilson's The Illuminatus! Trilogy considers some of the numerology of Discordianism, and the question of what would happen to the Law of Fives if everyone had six fingers on each hand. The authors suggest that the real Law of Fives may be that everything can be related to the number five if you try hard enough. Sometimes the steps required may be highly convoluted.
Another way of looking at the Law of Fives is as a symbol for the observation of reality changing that which is being observed in the observer's mind. Just as how when one looks for fives in reality, one finds them, so will one find conspiracies, ways to determine when the apocalypse will come, and so on and so forth when one decides to look for them. It cannot be wrong, because it proves itself reflexively when looked at through this lens.

I always love the photo pf the day there.
To add something that might interests others, I love this little free (

by Gill inthe watchtower org does not believe that 'justice and equality' should be pursued nowadays.
justice and equality or only to be expected in a never neverland that will never come.. november 1st watchtower on page 14, shows how the borg uses ecclesiastes to teach it's slaves to accept oppression, poverty and injustice.. page 14 it discusses ecclesiastes 1:15 and explains it under:.

Cultural activities, such as architecture, gardening, and music, as well as luxurious living are 'striving after wind' because they neither make life truly meaningful nor bring lasting happiness.
This really pisses me off. It's complete BS. Just trying so hard to suck the life right out of them, turn them into/keep them automatons.
God, how can they really rationalize trying to remove the joy from life? Say even if, hypothetically, their apocalyptic view were accurate, why would they so want the JWs lives to be such drudgery?
Well, I think I know... It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. They must make life in this system a drudgery, a hell, to prove that this system is near the end. It must be!

Daystar is another form of "morning star".
Daystar/morning star is also often considered a figurative name for both Jesus and Lucifer. (Though the accuracy of either is debatable.) This appeals to my sense of the dual nature of all of us.
The morning star is Venus. Venus is the goddess of love and beauty. My real name means handsome or beautiful. And my natal chart suggests a great deal of Venutian influence on my Taurean nature.
