reading another thread made me realise that there are numerous expressions used as everyday witness terminology, that is not in the bible.... such as:.
governing body.
paradise earth.

thank you for your cooperation on this timely matter...
the innocent civilians being attacked is the norm of the day.
attacking hospitals too are happening frequently.
now schools being attacked is becoming a regular affair (last of its kind massacred 150 children in peshawar on december 16, 2014)..
You should read Pinker's The Better Angels Of Our Nature. Exactly the opposite to what you state is happening, and we are in by far the most peaceful time in history. The fact that you are shown two or three atrocities on the news each night gives you a falsely negative opinion, but there are billions of humans on earth, with a higher percentage than ever living healthy peaceful lives.
if they are this happy, why do they keep taking down this video?

Awesome video, and great to see Bethelites violating copyright by using that music, which may also be why it keeps getting taken down.
Happiness is not the norm at Bethel. Viv Mouritz, head of the Branch Committee in Australia in the 1990s told me people do not want to be in Bethel, as it is a totally unnatural way for people to live. They just do it because that is what Jehovah wants until the new system.
i have former jws looking at jwfacts.com in order to update themselves with what is happening with the religion, so that they can better understand their jw family.
it thought it would help if there was a page devoted to what has changed since 2000. .
2012 oct release of jw.org - jws encouraged to download their own publications and use ipads at meetings and field service.

Here are a few.
Please include any others you can think of. There have been ongoing changes to how the elder arrangement works, the CO visit, hourly pioneer requirement etc. If you can find a link on JWC or include a Watchtower reference with more details that would also help greatly.
recently got this email from a long-time jw friend who is still "in".thoughts on a tactful response?thanks, doc
science increasingly makes the case for god.
the odds of life existing on another planet grow ever longer.. intelligent design, anyone?.
The fine-tuning necessary for life to exist on a planet is nothing compared with the fine-tuning required for the universe to exist at all.
Which in turn is nothing compared to the fine-tuning required for god to exist, who by definition is even more complex.
there are more than 200 known parameters necessary for a planet to support life—every single one of which must be perfectly met, or the whole thing falls apart. Without a massive planet like Jupiter nearby, whose gravity will draw away asteroids, a thousand times as many would hit Earth’s surface. The odds against life in the universe are simply astonishing.
And yet it is not impossible that there are other planets supporting life, since the universe itself is so astonishingly large.
hello all... i currently studying the bible teach book and i'm just curious what information does the study conductor record about the student and is it passed on??
and they keep on saying "the truth" which is starting to get on my nerves.
lol.
I'm not sure this is still handed in, but it was when I was preaching.
why are so many jehovah's witnesses unaware of their own beliefs.
.
i would imagine the repetitive meetings, studies and door to door knocking would firmly root them in their beliefs.. yet, i've observed they either back out of challenging questions at times, or share a link to jay w org.. .
"It is important to understand that in most Bible-based cults, although the member is aggressively taught doctrine, it is not the doctrine that holds him in the group. It is the sense that the group is God's true people, a feeling cultivated by techniques of mind control. Thus, to engage the cult member in a Biblical argument or discussion is often futile." Stephen Hassan Releasing the Bonds p.145
Control is not about the teachings, it is about the concept that they are a special people. I think the GB are becoming more aware of that, and so have cut back on heavy doctrine, and now push more the idea that they are the chosen ones, and there are no one else on earth like JWs. The doctrine are basically just filler to make the religion look legitimate.
and joined your ranks.... this means...youre talking about a people, that currently are pushing no sex till marriage.
that would end and join into the messages you currently push regarding youths and sex.
that would be sex, with condoms.
Welcome Atheist-R-Stupid, it is great to have another Watchtower apologist on board to spice things up. It shows the casual observer the mindset of a JW, which in your case seems to be a huge amount of pent up agression, and black and white thinking.
If all JWs left, they wouldn't all support abortion, etc, as you state, then you are just parroting the thinking the Watchtower wants you to believe.
Furthermore, some of the things you have mentioned may be commendable aspects of the JW community, but that does not make the religion healthy, once considering all the evil aspects of it. As Watchtower likes to say, you wouldn't drink a glass of water if you knew it had poison in it, regardless of how clean the rest of the water was.
