totaly factual or not, i think it will hold your attention for the 30 min.

if the dead are not to be raised, then let us eat and drink for tomorrow we are to die.. these words raise a challenge to so called christians.. the challenge is this: does your life reflect that you believe in the ressurection?.
the main thinking of being absorbed in a lifestyle of having a good time is this: you are a long time dead.
in other words if your life is taken up with having a good time then your ressurection hope is being forsaken.
I believe in a resurrection. I honestly don't think I would change my lifestyle even if I didn't. "loose conduct" means different things to different people. Either way, if your lifes in the crapper you know it, even if everybody else doesn't.
How 'bout you Radar?

when i read the "gossip" colums of the newspapers.
most of the time they are talking about famous people splitting up.
and who is the most elgible bachular, and so on.. so i pose a question to everyone that reads this.
Women.
i was just musing to myself and wondering if in the history of this happy and sometimes joyous place there has been a uniting of more than minds i.e.
a romance.. you know, where two posters become united as one.
wouldn't it be nice to have an anniversary right here on the board.. oh well, just wondering........ cheers,.
I'd like to have been yoked, but Julie's already happily married.

matthew 24:14 and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
(nwt).
im new to this board game, but i have been reading the submissions and replies from .
There is a sincere desire by most ex-JW's on this board not just to "get back at the Watchtower", but to help those still "in" see the hypocracy and danger of the religion they're associated with.
You said: "Or should we be trying to bolster fellow believers by encouragement, by discussing Scriptural subjects that may well offer enlightenment by positives, not negatives?"
Most here, including myself feel that exposing the WT to those trapped inside to be just as, if not more important.
You also said: "Or should we be trying to bolster fellow believers by encouragement, by discussing Scriptural subjects that may well offer enlightenment by positives, not negatives?"
Other than the pre-programmed dialog, there can be no real scriptural discussion with those still inside.
You mentioned "basics of spiritual truth" learned from the WT.
Could you list the ones unique to the WT? They need to be unique and true.

if you could give a talk at the kingdom hall what would you say?.
some of us here are still considered witnesses by our local congregations but have stopped going.. imagine though you were to go back for a few weeks and you were asked to give a 5 minute talk.. would you chicken out of saying anything controversial or would you give it all you've got.. what would you chose to talk about?
Frenchy,
I'd be interested in some details on those talks!

there have been a few things that have happened the past couple of weeks that makes me think that the word is being spread that we are "apostate.".
first, a sister that i have known since i was a teenager, looked me dead in the eyes and did not even acknowledge me, twice in the same store.
that didn't bother me because i have never liked her.
When a couple of my close relatives were presented with the evidence about the UN situation, (UN web site info; Guardian article) they said in no uncertain terms that it was an apostate conspiracy; that they had hacked the web site and falsified the Guardian article. They really believe that. Unbelievable! The human mind can really get screwed up.

hi folks;.
do you remember who said these wise words?.
a woman is nothing more than "a hank of hair and a bag of bones.
That would be dear ole' JFR.
BTW, wasn't Jan H. writing an essay on JF a year or so ago? I'd sure like to read it if he ever completed and translated it.
