  Do you believe in God?

  after reading the wt for last week's lesson on god's creative works i couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be.

  i dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident.

  i mean, what the chances really.

  Ken said "why worry about a God who does nothing that we can observe?" Come on now Ken, that's just the point. You spend your entire life observing everything. That everything came from somewhere and, at least for me, there's intelligence behind it. Just think of the details in everything. If everything was just one large chunk of rock then the "no intelligence" viewpoint might make some sense. However the universe is FULL of details.

  If you consider those details and leave religion along with everyone else's learned opinions completely out of the equasion, there's only one logical conclusion, (guess I should say IMHO). Perhaps some form of evolution was part of the plan; maybe the Bible is pure myth; could be He/She has never communicated directly with anyone. Despite the volumes of scientific theory and years of research there is no explination for the existance of everything sans intelligent design. I know I know, despite the religious theory and research there's no explination for the origin of that intelligence. There are only two possibilities - - which one makes sense? If you easily reach the no intelligence conclusion then it seems that science would have an easy time with the real explination.

  Yes! and it's totally different that I ever would have ever expected. My mind was so warped about my Creator and his attributes (thanks to the WT) that I used to think I prefered eternal death over serving Him and living "His way". I also found out that God is far from being anything close to what is commonly know as a fundie. I also believe the Bible has a personal message for everyone; don't think every word is to be taken literally. A particular scripture may tell me something I want or need to know where as the next person may get something quite different. I've also found that researching what a particular scripture or word really meant orginally has opened my eyes. I sure all JW's are familiar with "The great and fear inspiring day of Jehovah". When it's read as it was meant; "The great and awe inspiring day of Jehovah", one walks away with a sense of wonderment as opposed to fear; at least I do.

  Trinity

  i still dont believe in the trinity doctrine completely.

  lately though i have been reading other translations and listening to ex-jw testimonials online.

  granted most of these testimonials are from ex-jw, born again christians.

  The Bible isn't really specific about the trinity.. A good argument can be made for and against the doctrine. What really bothers me is how religions on all sides condem anyone to hell or eternal damnation if you don't see things the way they do. How can anyone in their right mind think that the Creator of the universe hangs around worrying and taking notes about the way us lowly humans comprehend His makeup? Does it really matter to Him how He is pictured by us, just as long as we understand His charactoristics like love, wisdom, justice etc? The trinity, the rapture, a world-wide flood, how long it took to build the universe, if Mary was really a virgin, etc. etc. are nothing but religion attempting to control us poor dumb lay-people. These doctrines are interesting and worthy of research and discussion but I don't think getting all the details just right determines our everlasting future and relationship with our Maker.

  i have a post from another forum that i am very interested in, but, i would love to hear a few of your views on the subject.. i am now going to dig into my bible to have a look to see what he is talking about, but i know that the view of jehovah's witnesses is about as close to the best intereptation of the bible there is...this is the post..... "-the eastern or golden gate, which was sealed for almost a 1200 years is a key part to bible prophecy.

  ezekiel recorded the prophecy about the closing of this gate.

  he told how the lord brought him to the eastern gate.. .

  Ever listened to "pastor" Arnold Murray? This guy's as offbeat as they come, but he knows his Bible! He can quote almost any bible verse from memory. Also, for example, if he's asked a question like where in the bible does it say "And God raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power." He'll think for a second and say 1 Cor. 6:14. Just because he's got a great memory doesn't mean his interpritations are any more correct than anyone else.

  If The Population Increases Does It Mean There Would Be Less Demon Control?

  since the demons can't multiply and produce baby demons, my theory is that if the earth's population increases, then there is less likelyhood that the demons and a singular devil will get to us.....whaddya think?

  I hate it when someone wants to ax me a question. I also hate the new way word meanings are twisted around: "Hey man that's a sick looking car you have!" "Sick" now means nice looking. One other thing, a whore is a whore, not a Ho. Go figure. Stick a sock in it. Past Due. System Failure.
