def d, so quiet now? I`m still waiting for a reply as to why the God of all mankind would say it`s ok for one of the tribes (the Israelites) to massacre all of the others. Please tell, I`d really like to know.

Gods Hero[s]
by Norm inthose who are believers and worry about meeting gods standard for moral, ethics and general behavior seem to have very little to worry about.
at least if we are to take the bible serious.
most christians seems to be very selective in such matters.

One more thing, defd: Were the Philistines also created by Jehovah? Of course they were, they were also descendants of Adam and Eve. That means God created them. Now, although some of their ancestors must have been "apostates" in one sense or the other (as they, although they were descendants of Adam and Eve, were no longer part of YHWHs "chosen people"), would it be fair that God allowed the Israelites to slay every man, and take their women and children as slaves, and take their sheeps and cattle? Would an almighty and kind God allow, and even support something like that? Try to think outside JW-doctrine...the philistines were people, you know! - human beings, with the same emotions, desires, love for their children, as the jews. And judging from the OT, their moral/ethical standards couldn`t possibly have been any lower than the jews` either. In another part of the Torah (can`t remember the exact passage), the jews are commanded (by God) to, when they come across a village/camp of heathens, to "slay every man, woman and child, and even the livestock, and afterwards to salt the earth, to make sure that noone could ever live there again! "
That`s the kind, fair and loving god, YHWH (you`re probably going to argue that they were in their right, now, because they didn`t worship YHWH...and that`s what makes it impossible to argue with JWs)

defd...no matter how you twist and turn things, the god of the old testament is a violent and manevolent god, who didn`t take two dimes for killing of anyone/sending his "chosen" people to kill for him.
"31:6 So Moses sent them to the war, one thousand from every tribe, with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who was in charge8 of the holy articles9 and the signal trumpets in his hand. 31:7 They fought against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses, and they killed every male.10 31:8 They killed the kings of Midian in addition to those slain—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—five Midianite kings.11 They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.12 31:9 The Israelites took the women of Midian captives along with their little ones, and took all their herds, all their flocks, and all their goods as plunder."
...what God would allow his people to "kill every male" of a competing tribe? (Oh, and by the way: Anyone ever wonder why the Israelis don`t think twice about destroying entire apartment buildings, killing dosens of civilians (many of whom are children), just to kill one terrorist? - yup, the Torah says it`s ok)

Samson rocked...a man after my own taste. Kick ass and pork the hot babes. I`ve named my son Samson, actually (his great grandfathers name, used to be a common name here in Norway, not so much in use any more, though)

The GB members fate after they die
by greendawn inthe gb members believe that they are an "elite of the elite" class (the cream of the cream as it were, the best of the faithful remanent)that after death they will go to heaven with an immortal spiritual body where they will be granted to enter heavenly jerusalem and rule with christ for 1000 years in unimaginable glory.
i believe that they are being far too optimistic and that something very different awaits them in the future.
if you had the opportunity to object to them receiving such a lofty status what would you have to say to justify this position, and what do you propose they really deserve to receive?

I think they`re going to spend an eternity in their graves, dismembering, rotting and being eaten by maggots and bacteria. Just like everyone else. SUre, they`ll be "ressurected" in a 100 years or so, when their coffins are removed to make place for new carcasses. (sounds harsh, but it`s the damn truth)

Alcyone, the central one of the renowned Pleiadic stars… Alcyone, then, as far as science has been able to perceive, would seem to be 'the midnight throne' in which the whole system of gravitation has its seat, and from which the Almighty governs his universe…
HA HA, I LOVE THAT PARTICULAR TEACHING! Makes religion fun in all it`s sci-fi-ness. (And I`m not even a Star Trek or Star Wars-fan) (damn, how do I turn of the yellow highlight...)

A norwegian saying: "Ugress forgår ikke så lett" --- means something like "bad weed doesn`t succumb very easily"...they`ll stick around for a long time, cause they are so happy in their "righteousness". Bastards always live long.
