the religion doesnt make sense at all.

they believe that adam and eve sinned which resulted in death and human inperfection.

but obiviously adam and eve were'nt meant to sin and if they didnt sin and they had obeyed god.

i watched the show and had the coloring book and the little plastic figures.

then some jw kid had a nightmare, it was taken as demonism and my smurfs were taken away!

Now then.....I like to shave my nutsack, then put bag balm on it, then use a highspeed buffer and make it shine like bald mans head! It looks kinda cute.

Note to self; encase comp. in plastic to avoid spitting tea over it while reading posts from gumby

As a wee damselfly in the late 70's/early 80's I loved the smurfs! I watched the show and had the coloring book and the little plastic figures. Then some JW kid had a nightmare, it was taken as demonism and my smurfs were taken away! Now as an adult I proudly embrace the smurf. I drink my afternoon tea out of my "Have a happy day!" Smurf mug, sometimes when asked to describe something I declare it to be "smurfy", I am on the lookout for socks with smurfs on them and if the smurfs are on T.V ? well hand over the remote cause I will be watching them!

Does anyone else have anything similiar that they were denied as a kid, but now enjoy ?

My day at the assembly, er, convention

well, i could not avoid going today; a close friend got dunked and i had to go.. i was not even in my seat when i was already writing down egregious mind control bs: the first of the day and here it is:.

(verbatim) "obedience in the congregation to the elders is the same as obedience to jehovah personally".

my day got started with that puker.. ok, sit down and take more notes; not enough caffeine to take it straight.

Maybe I was used to tuning this sort of control out back in the day. Have they always been this blantant about control? Or has it gotten worse since I left?

Witness Kids SUCK

i just got home from a dub "party".

it was very tame, seemed to be choreographed, and i was just shocked.. for one thing, everyone there was my age or older.

these people are young adults.. yet, it felt like the jr. high dance.

What sucks the most about JW parties is the smug look on the parent's faces "See how much fun are kids have being JW?"

When we were young we would have our sleepovers at a friends house, and then her brother would have his friends over at his Grandma's house next door. We had fun parties as long as we didn't invite any elder's kids. Everyone would end up sleeping on the floor together. We did at one point go camping with some witness families, had our "worldy" boyfriends stay at a different campsite and agree to stay out of sight in the day. It was fun for the week, until yes, you guessed it an elder's daughter spotted them. Oh well! It was fun while it lasted.
