I love them! Think they look great.
I had my cartilage pierced at one point. It healed fine within a few months when I took it out. You can still feel a little bit of scar tissue where the hole was but it's no longer visible.

The Middle Initial..Pretentious?

there was a post a couple of days ago showing the gb photos and their names.

I use both my middle names on ALL important forms. IN my (very small town) there are 3 other people with the same first, last and middle name as me. For a while I was getting very nasty calls from creditors for one of them until we figured out who it was. Not me! I pay my bills. :D
Using my middle names is a necessity.

Da Vinci Code, what did you think?
by gaiagirl ini had recently read the book, "the da vinci code", and just saw the movie this weekend.
essentially, the plot revolves around a 2000 year old "cover-up", in which it is claimed that jesus was married to mary magdelene and had children.
this knowledge was suppressed by the early church, but kept alive by a secret society of which leonardo da vinci was a member.

A sore point with me is that as the oldest in my large family I was never encouraged to go to school. My parents wanted me to graduate high school and pioneer. Drama ensued and I left home. Fast forward a few years, my sister didn't attend college either, however my brother was very encouraged to go to college and lived at home with all his expenses paid for by my parents while he completed his degree. My remaining siblings are being encouraged to do the same.
I did get to school eventually by working my ass off to do it on my own. It was (and still is) very difficult but very worth it.

I know tons of people who got to college wothout parents help, including me.
Save money now with part time jobs. Apply to every scholarship and bursary you can think of and look on line for more opportunities. Student loans are easy to get and with proper budgeting will cover all expenses. Get roommates that you know and get along with.
If you are still living at home (in my province you need to prove that you are independant before they will consider you for loans or prove that parents aren't willing to help you financialy), get all your personal papers and financial info together and in a safe place.
You can do this if you are determined to do it.

Men, women and toilet seat etiquette
by Gregor ini've never quite understood the big deal about men leaving the toilet seat up but since i hear so much about it i try to comply.
i do have a pet peeve.
sometimes when i lift the seat there are obvious signs on the underside that a female has used it and not bothered to 'tidy up'.

Yes, we could just lift the seat but um......that's gross. If men would just learn to aim a little better then you wouldn't have to lift the seat at all. ;)

Diagnosis - Skin Cancer......
by AK - Jeff ini had a lesion removed from my right cheek, just below the eye and to the right of my nose a week ago yesterday.
doc did it in the office and indicated he did not think it was malignant - but sop requires a path test to confirm.
it was malignant i was told today.

Echoing what other posters have said, skin cancer is very treatable when caught early. I would try not to worry about it too much until the pathology report is back. It's very likely that removing the mole also removed all of the cancerous cells.
You were smart to insist it get looked after. My (24 yr old) co-worker watched a mole on her leg spread, change colors and grow for 3 YEARS!!!!! before she finally got it looked at. This was only after she showed us (a massage therapist and estheticians, we're trained to look out for ominous looking skin lesions) and we had to beg her to make an appointment. She now has very aggressive melenoma that has spread to the surrounding tissue. It's very serious and the outcome is iffy.
Please keep us posted and be sure to wear your sunscreen.

COLLEGE!
by RichieRich inoh, so in the midst of everything else, college is goin well.. about 30 % of my high school graduating class came here, so its really just like high school part2.
i have 2 morning classes, and 2 night classes, so that way the majority of my schooling gets done on 2 days of the week instead of 4. last night was my first night in my english 111 class.
i already knew thaqt there was one witness in there, but its someone who i've kept up with, and someone who is cool with me, as i am.
