Why Doesn't The Org Feed It's Delegates Anymore?
by Englishman ini hear that food is no longer available at assemblies.. is that right?.
not even a cup of tea?.
this can't be right!

Mt me too! I would skip as much of the convention as possible working in food prep. Hour after hour.
Yeah no food, now food vendors with carts have caught wind of it and will often set up shop just across the street from the convention site. That goes over really well.

Ok, I will be practicing open eyed sleep and daydreaming.

Not whole blood, but individual parts okay
by daystar insince i am unable to search this forum, i thought i'd ask for help.
i have heard that the org now says that all the parts of blood are okay for transfusion individually, just not whole blood.
but i've not actually seen this in any wbts publication.

Very good link and information.
Odd thing about the new blood card and view is no longer do you need a seperate power of attorney form. But the new blood card at least in the us is written up so as to be a power of attorney in itself and is now far larger than the old one was.
I have one *lol*

How many of you consider yourselves Pagan?
by FreedomFrog ini've started on a path that is very comfortable for me almost a year ago.
and now i'm wanting to see how many believe a similar way.. i looked into wiccan, celtic, eclectic and other forms of pagan.
i think that i've settled down into shamanism since that was the path my grandfather went.

Glad to see a thread as such, ironically my great grandmother was cherokee too. Though shamanism isn't my main leaning.
I'm more or less questing still, but if a term had to be put to me on my beliefs, yes I am a pagan. I associate with people who practice shamanism, and who are wiccan.
Being non judgemental I think is the key. Though I do know certain areas I seem to have "gifts" for.

This was at a convention several years ago.
I'm going to one this weekend to avoid the freak out stalker reaction that my skipping would have on the rents this time around, and going knowing full well it's my last. So I'll be in full heckling form.

So I have seen many anti experience threads etc. My Father (a jw elder) has had several businesses for a number of years. (Thanks dad I'll follow your example really well and become an excellent business person.) He has of course hired a number of JW's. And in all fairness he has had other employees who have been not so good as well but thats not the point of this thread. Bad JW Employee stories....
There has been a common theme I have found with JW Employees. Often, though not always they expect better treatment for being a JW working for one, like they think they get extra unexcused absences etc. After all it is a business, business needs consistent employees.
One experience I can share is that there was a "brother" working for my dad, last minute the guy asked for time off to go to a convention. He was told no because a good majority of his co workers already were taking time off among other issues. He quit. Later at that convention, which happened to be ours he was on the platform as a "good" example of someone who made a sacrifice to be there, his sacrifice, you guessed it, that he quit his job so he could be at the convention.
