actually its my husband and I that are thinking about going to Florida from Nov15 untill March. 30. He is a pharmacist and had a job offer in a new store in that area...it is Lake Worth,,,not Fort Worth...I would like to live in a gated communtiy of a condo that is not too easy to get into as he will be working a lot of night shifts and moving from a place where we don't even lock our doors to a place with possible criminals on the loose scares me...He loves Florida, drives a Harley and I think most people would be scared of him! So if any of you Florida folks or folks with connections in Florida please help if you can. I'll even invite you guys down to visit!!!Bring a sleeping bags through as I don't think we will have too much furniture.!!

Please don`t read if you are a current witness and have doubts.
by void inwell i am new to the board, i have faded away from the truth lies about 6 years ago.
it still has an effect on me today, so much so i gave the warning in the title.
this is because one of the things drilled into me, was that its far worse to lead a member of the flock away.

Welcome to the board! Most of us are walking wounded here and have scars that are hidden well...It is such a relief to be able to come here and find friends that truly understand and identify with us. I hope you will continue to post and read as each person's story is unique but very similar and it gives us the encouragement we need to keep our senses when we feel that we are the only one that has lived in the insane world of JW's.

My daughter and her grandparents
by kwintestal insince i talked to my father after my disfellowshipping and he hung up on me, i haven't talked to my mom or dad.
last month when we were in ontario i talked to my uncle and aunts about how my parents are treating us (shunning) and we got a lot of support from them, and they can't understand why my mom and dad would treat us like that.
anyway, my 7 year old daughter overheard the conversations, even though i was trying to keep the situation away from her as i don't think a child really needs to know all the details of the situation.. on the drive home out of the blue my daughter says she wants to call my parents, so we ask why?

Kwin; I have been reading the posts and trying to find the words to say....after meeting you little girl i know she is so innocent in all this but it will be your parents who will lose out on the precious gift of grandchildren and they will suffer but we all know they only have themselves and the WBTS to blame. You are no disfellowshiped now so why not suggest lunch with you and the kids? I don't know, I guess I am grasping at straws trying to think of something rational. You guys are great parents and I know you will make up for anything they are missing in the way of love and attention....Hugs to the kids from the swimming pool lady!! and my love to you and J too.

Welcome to the board...Yes, it can be an addiction but it has helped me and countless others to get through the first step or thinking outside of the borg. I come here everyday for encouragement and friendship. There are some mighty fine people here...Stay around.

remember apostates holding signs outside the convention?
by in a new york bethel minute ini remember there was one that used to go to my hall.
he would say hi to my dad and my dad would ignore him.
i know now that my father feels bad for that, but at the same time he had no choice.

we had a guy in a prisoner's suit...black and white stripes pacing around the district convention one year...I did't quite get the gist of it but he probably meant that we were prisoners without bars....at least that is what i felt like most of the time...Prisoners of the Watchtower.
