I stand with one foot resting on top of the other. People have pointed that out to me.

Strange Habits You Realised You Have
by Stephanus ini recently realised i have a strange habit that's been noticed by others: i look in people's fridges when i'm over at their house.
it's just a reflex action, and i only recently became aware of it.. what strange habits have you discovered that you didn't realise you had?.

Crosses (on necklaces and hanging in your home)
by earthtone inafter reading mary's post on crosses.
i got to thinking.......... how do people feel about wearing crosses as a memorial or remembrance of what jesus went through for us?.
does anyone remember witnesses using this explanation as to why they don't wear crosses or hang them in their home?

I would love to buy a cross necklace or have someone give me one for a gift but I don't know if I am mentally ready for that yet. The place where I am now in my head is kind of blah.....I am thinking seriously about seeing a therapist. When I start "thinking" I get angry. I need to cross a few more bridges before I get the cross....

Did you block out your Witness life?
by achickwwit ini stopped going to meetings at age 19 or 20. my brother had been df'd.
my sister and her new bethalite husband had left the organization labeled as apostates, and my single mom followed suit.
i was pretty much raised by the congregation, though i lived with my isolated mother.

Welcome to the board. I hope you can find the healing you need here. I know I am... I am glad you have found a good person to be with. My husband is a wonderful man..never a JW and has always supported me and my decisions. I try to forget things about my "other life" but a lot of the time it is there just looking over my shoulder...I am hoping to lose that someday....Take care..

COLLEGE!
by RichieRich inoh, so in the midst of everything else, college is goin well.. about 30 % of my high school graduating class came here, so its really just like high school part2.
i have 2 morning classes, and 2 night classes, so that way the majority of my schooling gets done on 2 days of the week instead of 4. last night was my first night in my english 111 class.
i already knew thaqt there was one witness in there, but its someone who i've kept up with, and someone who is cool with me, as i am.

Congratulations on college, Richie. I know you will do well. As far as the JW classmate......You know the old saying........"Do unto others......." what goes around comes around...... Be kind to her and "pile hot coals on her head" You never know..she might take a liking to you and who knows what then? Keep in touch with us....Love Arwen

Recommend a GOOD film - no snakes, planes or spandex superheroes.
by nicolaou init's been out a while and i know it's already been commented on here but i really enjoyed the village.
the creation of fear and the control that it allows must surely strike a chord.. recently i saw christian bale in the machinist.

Did anyone see or do a random act of kindness today?
by okie46 intoday while unloading my groceries, i witnessed a random act of kindness... someone in a ford explorer was waiting for a car to leave a parking spot so they could pull in there, they had been waiting for several minutes when finally the car in that spot backed out and left.
before the person in the ford explorer could pull into the spot, a lady in a ford taurus pulled on into that parking space.
the person in the ford explorer who had been patiently waiting, just sat there, they didn't honk or flip the person off, then the lady in the ford taurus realized that the other vehicle had been waiting for that spot and backed out to find another spot, letting the guy who had been waiting have his spot.
