  she has past in the last month and i have been trying to decide when i would post this development in my life for privacy reasons.

  realizing this is quite ridiculous i am posting it now.

  So very sorry for your loss.. I can tell by your post that you loved your mom very much.. I lost my mom when she was 72 and i still miss her to this day 15 years later..She was not a witness thank God. I hope you find some comfort in knowing she is in Heaven with her loving Father and at peace. Sending love and warm thoughts your way tonight..x0

  Music from the 1990's

  today i was telling my stepdaughter about akjeff's thread on cheesy cornball music.

  she started talking about a music video from the mid to late 1990's where a black male was standing outside singing, and a woman was being beaten inside a house.

  i can't for the life of me figure out what song she's talking about.

  after all these years!!!!

  she is 63 yrs old still a jw.. has shunned me for years.. she lives in montreal me in ontario... .

  last week i got the urge to send her a lovely card just to tell her i love her .

  So happy to hear your news.. Thanks for sharing with us.. There is no love like the love of a mother for her chlld. It takes a while for kids to realize that. She has stepped out of the "box" to call you and thank you. That in itself is progress...I hope your contact will continue. You are a beautiful mother, Grace and I am sure she loves you but is under the influence of the borg. Maybe,,,, just maybe...things will change for her... Keep praying and I will too!! x0

  my dear dad who has been out for more than 10y, often says that we, who've left the cult, may be the ones that are truly blessed by god and i like that thought.

  as discussed a few weeks ago on rick fearon's conference call, anyone who is interested should email the dr. phil show about the last airing this month of the secret lives of women about cults on we tv tomorrow that features brenda lee.

  the goal is to expose the wb&ts as the cult that it is on the dr. phil show..

  Does anyone know anything about the Gideons?

  my husband has been invited to attend a retreat or something like that on the weekend.. sounds like an overnight thing.. we are a couple of friends that belong to this group... seems innocent enough to me but my red flag went up and i am feeling very anxious about it.

  ..he says.

  they just place bibles.. i said yeah,, that's what the jw's said.. does anyone have any ideas about the gideons??

  i am barbara's sister marilyn, and i was first introduced to the jw's at age 13 and met frank then along with all of the other young people.

  i knew frank's parents well for 3 years.

  since barbara and frank were dating we were at his house or he at our's quite a lot.

  WHAT HAS HELPED HEALED CURED YOUR BITTERNESS WITH THE BORG?

  is there or has there been anything that has aided you in your quest to rid yourself of the bitterness and resentment of the jw's .

  i know for some it has appeared that they have a newfound religion or religious belief, but that is not the case with myself.. for some maybe visiting these sites encourages them to shed those miserable memories?

  for me it just builds more resentment.

  Time has helped and distance from JW's. I call myself a "recovering JW". There is a lot of recovering to do from this cult that is for sure. I use humour as well. When I stop by to visit my family I always ring the bell or knock and when they come to the door i say.. "I was just in the neighbourhood sharing some magazines with others" or something like that.. always good for a laugh.. I could not have done it without Simon's board. The support and encouragement I got from there a few years ago was crucial to my sanity. I too, have met some ex JW's and it is amazing to know we share the exact same feelings. The most important thing that has helped me to get over my anger and bitterness is the fact that I am out and I am so grateful to God for that!
