How do I celebrate birthdays? Or Xmas?

i just recently started having b-days in the past couple of years for my kids.

they were a flop!i didn't know when to bring the cake out.. when to sing "happy b-day" or anything.

i felt like an idiot!only 3 kids showed up and no one elsed called to even say they weren't coming.

Thats how it felt though. It felt as if I was acting and pretending to be excited. Will this feeling pass? I hope so.

Do conflicts/arguments strengthen friendships/relationships ?

i think that conflicts do strengthen friendships or relationships.

it sets boundary lines and defines what's acceptable from what's not acceptable.

naturally it will strengthen the friendship or relationship as long as both respect the boundary line of the other one.. or, maybe conflicts mean that things aren't going right and the relationship/friendship isn't going good, and that the tolerance level has become very low, and arguments errupt for little nothings.... .

I say it how the arguement is resolved that is most important. As well as respect for each other during the arguement. No name calling!

Therapist speak is good to learn. example wife says " You are such a jerk. I have to always take the trash and and its your job" the hubby should say (most would really say "I am NOT a jerk " ) " I hear you saying.. you feel upset that I haven't been taking the trash out as much as you think I should"

The most odd thing is when in an arguement we all filter the info given to us through our personal thoughts and feelings. If we hear someone say ' you didn't do laundry' you may internally hear " you are a bad housekeeper" . Thats where miscommunication comes in . We need to let the other person know that we hear things different and we need more clarification.

I just recently started having B-days in the past couple of years for my kids. They were a flop!I didn't know when to bring the cake out.. when to sing "happy b-day" or anything. I felt like an idiot!Only 3 kids showed up and no one elsed called to even say they weren't coming. It seems to be my luck w/ any party I try to get together. This years party for my oldest is gonna be small w/ just a few friends- None from school since school just started she doesn't know anyone to invite yet and its 4 days away. We are having Cupcakes and fun w/ sprinklers and the trampoline and presents. Then the next day we are going to a wave pool. Maybe to chuck-e-cheese even.

About X-mas = i had my first real one last year. - When do you go through your stocking stuffers? When do you start putting up lights and the tree? I need the scoop on this stuff being a newbie and all. What is the normal to do xmas eve then xmas day?-- I want the dream... the piano and singing carols.. the works!!

well, we finally attended the dc.

we couldn't go when assigned so we went this weekend instead.

i will say what a fine spiritually refreshing weekend it was!

Even more of a reason why not to go anymore to anything. It makes me physically sick to hear the stuff they push on you and guilt you about. They twist things to fit what they need it to say. UGH!

I would rather know that people have gone to college.. heard the information on every other religion..etc and STILL wants to stay w/ JWs. Then someone that is refusing to know more then what they are told and telling everyone else they are wrong and going to die.

take a typical hardline witness family.. .

one day, they decide they want kids.. .

they already have in mind what their chilren should do when they leave school.

The talk i heard that pushed me to do it was " God doesn't listen to your prayers unless you are baptised" i was so upset that i have been praying and talking to Jehovah and he never heard me .
