Will the wts face a Muslim backlash over the new tract?
by fullofdoubtnow inthey do, after all, classify all religions apart from theirs as false, and we've seen in the last few days that it doesn't take much to inflame the more militant factions of islam.
there's a large muslim community around here, and i can't see some of them taking kindly to being labelled a false religion.. this may not be the best time for the wts to be distributing such "information", but i expect they will go ahead, oblivious as to the sort of reaction it may provoke.
i hope that nothing much comes of this campaign, but in the sensitive times in which we all live, i can't help wondering....

I wonder if they counted the entire time they were at the fair.
How was the fair. My boss went and said it was boring; but, he got bored on a cruise through the Baltic. I would like to go one year but I always find an excuse. This year it was the heat and the smoke from the fires. hehehe

Does the Pope have to apologize to the Muslims?
by free2beme ini heard today that the muslims want the pope to apologize, and at the same time i have heard muslims say that even an apology would not be enough.
a world leader of a country, has certain diplomatic concerns about what they say and do.
however, does a religious leader have these same concerns?

It's funny how easy it is to "offend" Islam. A little cartoon, a comment by a Christian religious leader and people are rioting in the streets. If Christians rioted everytime a cleric has said something nasty about Christianity than there would be riots 24/7. These radicals muslims are using our system and our values against us. They know how much we like everything to be P.C. and non-offensive so they try to throw it in our face when they are offended.
Sometimes I advocate taking the high-road and would say the Pope should apologize. But something tells me the people who want an apology understand the high road approach.
BTW, I'm really don't like the pope but I'll stick up for him based on the principle of what's being asked.
A world leader of a country
Since Vatican city is a country, would the Pope be considered a world leader.

So my step-father sent me an e-mail that was circulating amongst the dubs with an article about the conversion of the Furman Building into condos. He sent it to me with something like, "look what they're doing to the furman building". The article said that WTS sold the building in 2004(?) for $200 million.
So I replied: "Wow, nice condos. Who pocketed the $200million?"

Mt Holyoake College
Never heard of Mt. Holyoake College. HAHAHA... maybe Mt. Holyoke.
The article isn't very reliable if they can't even spell the names of their sources right. Also, we should ask: 1) who are these top scientists/professors? 2) what makes them top scientists? in the eyes of the reporter? 3) 75 really isn't a large number considering the number of scientists and professors out there. I'm sure Harvard alone has about 75 professors that could qualify at top scientists.
Gotta love the media.

Cardigans: Godspell
I've heard about a great big swindle
I read about it in a book
The book flew out the window
Was later found by thieves and crooks
And now
they're singing hallelujah
I'm wondering just what did they find
They say "what's it to ya?"
Just take a place in line
And wait
So I wait
I wait
And wait

A Visit With My Parents

" crap.

So I flew home this past weekend to visit with my family. I had a great time and was very happy my mom didn't do the whole "when are you going to come back to Jehovah?" crap. However, I could tell that she tried to put it all around me.
Examples and Observations:
1. My family decided to allow a book study in their new condo. They mentioned it quite a bit. There was a chair I was sitting in and they pointed out a few times on how Brother so and so likes the chair. After we had a few drinks, my mom would tell me how she requests everyone to take off their shoes to keep her carpet clean and how one brother refuses to. LOL
2. Of course a ton of cult literature was all around. The daily text was always on the table which BTW had a really wacky Psalm the other day. It made me laugh. I heard my mom going over it with my little brother before he went to school. It's really funny how they try applying everything to the borg. I heard her say "I guess this would be for when someone is wearing too much perfume in the hall". She was serious. LOL
3. She showed me pictures of her time at the convention with all of the "friends". There's one sister who is a flight attendant I pointed out that she was wearing her uniform without a nametag and wings.
4. She told me about all of the landscapers and floor buffers that have been appointed elders.
5. My mom was on the phone with her friend and she mentioned the special awake and then the special campaign coming up (I smirked because I've already seen it) and how she's scared the end is coming. Now right there is the culture of fear the WTS breeds. If you're confident that you're going to live forever in a paradise, why are you afraid of the end.
5. The biggest surprise: This girl, around my age, that used to be in my mom's congregation wants my e-mail address. I have a feeling she wants to preach to me or something. I thought it was "illegal" to speak with me but I guess that means i've never been da'd or df'd. eerr. I said to my mom, "i'm interested to see what she has to say". HAHA! Of course my mom told me not to start any trouble.
Overall, no direct attacks. It was nice to see everyone. BTW Delta Airline's Mile High Mojito is awesome!
