i learned the truth about the truth after i was df.
now, i want to get reinstated for family reasons.
i still want to walk the tightrope to the point of going in service,but cannot promote the teachings of wts as i did for 40 yrs.

i work with about 30 guys who fail to realize that one can actually hold a conversation without swear words and still make sense.
it doesn't happen that way.
the words they use frequently make the f-word look like a polished piece of vocabulary.. now, about 4 months ago, the son of a jw family in good standing applied for a job there.
I would never knowingly hire a JW. I have 2 reasons.

i was just wondering if you had any doctors, lawyers, pyschologists, psychiatrists, engineers or any highly educated ones in your congregation?

I knew 2 men who were electrical engineers, but they got their education before they were JWs. Both eventually became elders. One of them became a JW after me, not so much because he believed in it but because his wife joined and he wanted to keep the peace in his family. I felt bad for him because he was a really nice guy and very intelligent. His wife was friends with mine, and said many times she wanted to dump him. She said she never loved him - she only married him because she wanted kids and he made good money.

basically my question is, is there a difference between a person who was inactive for 15 years and missed all the meetings, compared to a disfellowshipped person who also missed 15 years of meetings.
lets say that both come back and after a few months both are active again.
is the inactive person treated the same way as the one who has been reinstated?.
I think it all depends on who you are and who you're related to. I've seen children of elders get df'd, and come back several years later with "worldly" hubby and kids in tow, get reinstated, and have the congregation welcome them back as if they were celebrities. To the other extreme I've seen people who have never been df'd, been "faithful" for decades and still be treated like shit every day. I've seen some women marry "worldly" men and get df'd and others who never even got reproved. One was even used on a circuit assembly demonstration a month after she married a "worldly" man.
JW rules do not apply equally to all members.

i think he would quote people by saying "for just as you have written...".
then he would start with "truly i tell you today...".
and then come out with amazing, profound yet completely vague reference such as "for by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned".
He would say that JWD is in fact the "new scrolls" spoken of in the book of Revelation.
If the JWs only knew...

We get holy spirit by osmosis. We rub up against a anointed and some holy spirit rubs off on us.
Sounds a bit like a Communicable Disease. At least it's not airbourne.

i found an old jw telephone list of our congregation, with all the names and phone numbers on it.
there's about 60 names on it.
that list was made in 1995.. i put a line through the names of those who don't go anymore or who are disfellowshipped.. believe it or not, half of the names on that list has a line through it....
You should mail them all "apostate" literature. Use the PO's address as the return address. I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

the wife and i are heading to cancun next wednesday for a week.

Surprisingly, he sounded very pleasant and did not come across as being arrogant, even knowing it was me he was talking to.
Yes, they were very nice and friendly with me too, just before I got screwed over by them. Don't trust them, even for a moment.
