I wish I was kidding. I knew an elder who bought ties by the pound, and he gave me a bunch when I was pioneering. As for the suits, I had to go to a funeral 2 weeks ago and found all my good suits had moth holes in them. I ended up wearing one of my cheap suits from my JW days. Lucky I didn't throw them all out.

Advantage: You can buy cheap polyester suits that even the moths won't eat, and find outlets that sell ties by the pound.
Disadvantage: You go through life looking like a loser.

I used grocerygateway.com years ago but stopped. They ran out of some steaks I ordered and they substituted a cut I don't particularly care for. I can understand that happening occasionally, but these substitutions were becoming too frequent.

Nickolas, you are right. We were nothing more than roommates for the last 11 years of our 16 year marriage. The "relationship" ended when the elders turned down my regular pioneer application, which effectively destroyed the wife's hope of ever going to Gilead. After that I was merely excess baggage. I was just too stupid to see it at the time.

I left the cult and left my wife 6 months later. She wasn't content to let me exercise my own freedom of/from religion without constantly barking at me, and I wasn't content to be a second class citizen in my own home. I might have stuck it out, but I had reason to believe she was planning to leave me anyway, and was just waiting for my mom to die first so she could get her hands on my inheiritance. She was just asking too many questions about what I was planning to do with the money once my mother "finally kicks off" (her words). I was offended by her attitude towards my family the entire 16 years we were married, and I was determined that she would never benefit from another cent of my parents' money.

An employer might grant a day off if such a threat were made so he wouldn't be shorthanded for the next week or two while he was interviewing new job applicants.
