What would be the reason for not hiring this person? His religious affliation? Illegal. Lack of experience? Legal. Not a good fit? Legal.
It's all in the wording, isn't it?

i work with about 30 guys who fail to realize that one can actually hold a conversation without swear words and still make sense.
it doesn't happen that way.
the words they use frequently make the f-word look like a polished piece of vocabulary.. now, about 4 months ago, the son of a jw family in good standing applied for a job there.

i know it may be hard to narrow down just one.
how about what is or was one of your favorite scriptures?
And here's one for the ladies! How would you feel if your dad was willing to sell you for 100 foreskins?
1 Samuel 18:25-27
25 At that Saul said: “This is what YOU men will say to David, ‘The king has delight, not in marriage money, but in a hundred foreskins of the Phi·lis´tines, to avenge himself on the enemies of the king.’” But as for Saul, he had schemed to have David fall by the hand of the Phi·lis´tines. 26 So his servants reported these words to David, and the matter was to David’s liking, to form a marriage alliance with the king, and the days had not yet expired. 27 So David rose and he and his men went and struck down among the Phi·lis´tines two hundred men, and David came bringing their foreskins and giving them in full number to the king, to form a marriage alliance with the king. In turn Saul gave him Mi´chal his daughter as a wife.W
i just read on another thread about quotes that the society changes the publications sometimes,.
is this true that they print something then in the bound volume or cd rom they change it or take it out??.
does anyone have any proof of this?
tetrapod.sapien, I still have the original watchtower that is the source of that scan. I wonder what my mom would think of having her study copy on the internet. LMAO! If she only knew...

Isaiah 55:2
2 Why do YOU people keep paying out money for what is not bread, and why is YOUR toil for what results in no satisfaction? Listen intently to me, and eat what is good, and let YOUR soul find its exquisite delight in fatness itself.
Jeremiah 5:8
8 Horses seized with sexual heat, having [strong] testicles, they have become. They neigh each one to the wife of his companion.

this always weirded me out...if a jw's spouse dies (and lets assume they were reasonably young) and that widower re-marries, has a big happy family, etc etc.... now imagine resurrection day.....the last thing you remember is this person was the love of your life, your entire universe, your raison d'etre, and surprise!
they have moved on without you, and you are left high and dry....can you imagine the psychological nightmare this would be for the "resurrected"????
would you even want to come back to that??
If a JW widower remarries, what happens to the poor spouse at resurrection?
You think that's bad??? What about the poor guy who has a complete b*tch for a wife, then she gets sick and dies. He's so happy! FREEDOM!!! No background nagging while he's watching TV!!! Pizza whenever he wants!!! BEER TOO!!! And he only has to shower once a month!!!
Then, one day, she's resurrected and returns to him.
I wonder what the suicide rate will be in the new system™?

.
this is what a friend of mine told me who has a bethelite in his hall.
he got invited to the annual meeting by this bethelite and of course my friend is all excited and can't wait to be "fed spiritually"
This should be interesting to see if it is New Light or same crap .
It'll be the same old spiritual pablum regurgitated to increase mushiness.

i'm interested in finding out what planted the seed in your mind that got you started on questioning the watchtower.
what issue, event, or idea started you on the path to rejecting the watchtower?
and while we're at it, what event was the straw that broke the camel's back, that pushed you over the edge to finally quitting the organization?
The sexual molestation of children, and the Watchtower Society's policy of protecting child abusers.

in the final installment of my story, i am done with my local congregation now.
in the past month, i have been df'd, un-df'd attended a meeting where i shook everyones hand and smiled ... and now i have sent everyone in the hall this letter, roughly 60 addresses:.
open letter to the north congregation of jehovahs witnesses.
I disagree, from what I read, he is telling them that he is pretty sure that there is NO spirit of Jehovah as advertised, protecting his or any other congregation which amounts to saying that he believes JWs are not the chosen ones or that there is no god at all.... either way that can be construed as DA-ing
I think the fact that molestations are taking place at all is sufficient evidence to prove that Jehovah's Spirit, if present, is unwilling or unable to protect anyone. Besides, don't the JWs teach that Jehovah withdraws his spirit if serious wrongdoing occurs?

do you think the wt has become more lenient or stricter over the year?.
i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.
girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.
A person's life circumstances are constantly changing, and not always for the better. It's best to get your education now, while you're young. It's MUCH harder when you reach middle age. I did it, and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do, but I was faced with the choice of re-educating or being disabled and unable to work.
The "pioneer service" will always be there, if that's really what you want. The opportunity to get a solid start to life won't always be there.

Great letter!
You're not "bashing" the society or attempting to cause divisions. You are proposing a reasonable course of action. It should make some people think.
You will probably be re-disfellowshipped for this, but that could make some people think too.
