  So, let's see if I have this straight.

  1. Jesus inspected all religions and discovered only the Watchtower was teaching the "truth".
  2. Jesus approved the Watchtower Society in 1919.
  3. The Watchtower receives many flashes of new light over the years and makes many doctrinal adjustments, meaning Jesus was mistaken when he performed his inspection. The Watchtower was teaching lies, just like everyone else.
  4. Jesus continues to approve of the Watchtower Society, even though they're teaching lies like everyone else.
  5. At Armageddon everyone had better believe the Watchtowers lies, because if they believe someone else's lies they will be butchered. "As manure on the surface of the ground they will become." Only the believers of the Watchtower's lies will survive this extermination.

  It should read "JW's only help other select JW's!" - So what?

  I've seen many JWs who needed help but never got any from other JWs.

  Why write a letter of disassociation?

  my question may seem vague but if one decides to leave "the organization", why write a formal letter?

  why not just leave and not have any further contact with the witnesses?

  is there some legitimate legal reason for this or do people do this because the witness thinking has overtaken their logic?

  And don't forget, part of their game with new converts is the requirement to sever ties, in writing, with any other church they had membership with, supposedly to free themselves from a bond with False Religion™.

  When I joined the JWs they wanted me to do that - to write a letter to the Catholic church to sever ties, but I refused. No one pressed the issue.

  "Witness thinking" had nothing to do with my decision to write a letter. I was fed up with their harassment, so I wrote a letter directing them to stay away from me and stay out of my life and away from my property. I advised them that I was prepared to take legal action against them if the harassment continued.

  As an added benefit I don't have to look over my shoulder to see if a JW is watching me light up a smoke. I can answer my phone or my door without wondering if it's an elder checking up on me. I don't have to make excuses to anyone for not going to meetings.

  I don't feel the need to hide from anyone. Hiding is playing their game.

  i started fading two and a half years ago... and i have never been contacted once.

  not even a call to see how i was doing.

  my mom is still a diehard dub and doesn't even think it unusual.

  When I was injured and didn't attend meetings for a few months the elders didn't bother much with me either - just one 5 minute visit in over 3 months. That was when the PO and his wife dropped in to give me a get well card and a box of cookies. Nicest thing the JWs did for me in 20 years, I have to admit. But when I was considering fading and went to meetings sporadically, and was turning in service reports with all zeros they were banging on my door every week, and phoning too.

  I don't know why they missed me so bad. It's not like I ever commented or donated money...

  hey ya people,.

  hope all is well :) i know i havent posted much or atall really so sorry about that im just needing a little help i am i8 years old......., im just wondering because i am curretly friends with jw's and stuff (im not babtised though) and they keep sayng to me about the prohecies in the bible like the bible preticted ww1 to the exact date...religon is going to be banned in the great tribulation (then the end will happen) about the 7 global powers or something, and america now are the last superpower before the world ends, (anglo-saxon or something...) .

  i just need help about these...are these true?

  That's what they told me in 1976. If they were right you would never have been born, because they also said people wouldn't be getting married or having kids in the "new system".

  I only post here when I AM AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont post while I am at home because I am NOT ONLINE. If I were , I would not post, because after work is MY time.

  Does that mean you're stealing valuable time from your employer? I'm sure I've read watchtower articles that addressed this issue.

  one person even asked me why i didnt get a "real" computer.

  So, what was your excuse answer?

  My current notebook is a Dell Lattitude D800 that I've had for about 2 years now. My next one might be a powerbook, just because I've never had one, and feel like it's time for a change.
