the bible says to "remove the wicked man".
the scriptures teach that certain things are "works of the flesh".
some verses speak of "marking" or "taking special notice of" if a congregant is "disorderly".. where does the bible teach that a "sinner" should meet with 3 elders and they should hold a "judicial meeting to determine whether someone is repentant oe not"?
When you look up disfellowship(ed) in the NWT it tells you to look up expelled which directs you to John 9:22 & 12:42
John 9: 22 His parents said these things because they were in fear of the Jews, for the Jews had already come to an agreement that, if anyone confessed him as Christ, he should get expelled from the synagogue.
12:42 All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue; .....
Funny that they would refer to texts where this practice was used to oppose Christ. It just goes to show what a hypocritical and dishonest bunch the WT Society and FDS really are.

hey everybody!.
just wanted to let y'all know that i have three upcoming events where i'll be reading from "i'm perfect, you're doomed".

I just finished it and found it helped me think through many of the issues I had. May see you at one of the readings.

there was a time when i almost picked up that bookbag and bible, headed out the door for the kingdom hall, again, leaving my kids.. i was sure that going to the meetings, studying, field service, good association, was more pleasing to god than my relationship/responsiblity to my children.
none of them were going to be in the truth, so i hardened my heart and little by little, covered up the hurt i felt and kept up the facade.
by the time i got to my last child and only daughter that tried desperately to please me by going to meetings, studying, not saluting the flag a school, no holidays, birthdays, sneaking around to date, until then she never kept anything from me..........i realized i was losing all my children.
I was a good mom, but distanced myself, afterall they were going to be destroyed someday.
That is a perspective I hadn't thought about but which is so true for JW's whose children don't take to the "truth". It truly great that you have moved past it. A relationship with one's children is the best thing one can have, IMO.

samuel herd, a governing body member says in his speach "the miracle of prayer":.
"god does not answer all prayers.
prayers for world peace, he does not answer them.".
Very nice opinion they have of their God. Let's see, a politician prays for world peace. And Jehovah's response? "No way, you can't have that". Can't Herd see that that would make Jehovah an accomplice in the wickedness that takes place in this world?

i'm shamelessly jumping on the noah bandwagon - or ark - whatever.
considering how many view the bible (basic information before leaving earth....tm) do you think that there was a real noah?
my answer: i don't..
It would not surprise me if he didn't.

i sometimes go on the wt site to have a look to see what they have to say for themselves.
being a born-again christian i find some of the stuff make me laugh, some makes me sad and the odd thing makes me mad.
mostly i see insidious deceit in amongst the material presented.. anyhow, here is the latest article, no doubt with the "memorial" coming up.. the eucharistthe facts behind the ritual.
Stephen, like yourself I occasionally visit WT's site to see what's new. That Eucharist article about how "mysterious" it is bothered me. Why attack other's beliefs? How can they call anyone's ritual "mysterious" when they have a "celebration" that consists of a somber talk, followed by a passing of bread people are NOT supposed to eat and wine they are NOT supposed to drink, followed by a rush to the exits so the next congo can repeat the process? Further dubs are not supposed to celebrate after with a party of any sort. I mean it's like the pot calling the kettle black!

blue whale is the largest animal on earth,.... it would take huge cranes and a lot of manpower to carry one of those animals,.... how did noah achieve this?.
did he have cranes and chains?.
did he have a large enough aquarium on board, with salt water?.
Badboy where are you???

the wonderful world of the human psyche.
yes, we can.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9znf88-n3y&feature=channel.
Over time this is to be expected. People's confidence has much to do with how well they do. That is why the day that all people: women, homosexuals, bisexuals, minorities, and any one else stepped by self righteous people are no longer stepped on, on that day we will know our true potential as a species.
