Few do. Steve Hassan discusses this. Therapists need to have some training in this area. Otherwise it can be very frustrating seeing them. They can easily misdiagnose. I'm sure there are exceptions such as in Oompa's case.

the professionals i have visited don't seem to get it.
they believe you can just get over it and move on .... what say you?.

have you read this book?
mindful eating: a guide to rediscovering a healthy and joyful relationship with food (paperback), by jan chozen bays (author).
mr. rebel8 and i are reading it right now to eat healthier.
I will say this on the weight issue, I lost 45 lbs when I left the dubs. The strain, pressure, workload, and lack of real spiritual fulfillment I experienced as a dub were contributing factors to the weight gain. And that weight gain was my warning sign to change quick.

the only reason you have total control over all of your members is your false ''faithful and discreet slave'' scripture.
this scripture was applied only for your benefit.
without this scripture your whole religion would fall..
one more thing, fuck you for not allowing my parents to let me play sports in high school
Oh I love that one. If you only knew how much your foolish rules and unwritten laws have affected me in this area. How I have struggled and am still struggling to find my way to being the kind of fun loving person I would like to be. The kind of person I would have been if I could have played sports and danced and watched TV and movies. The kind of activities that I have a hard time finding time to learn as I am now a Dad and a provider. You have no idea the damage and regrets you have caused in so many people's lives. How we hate you because of that. I only wish there were a burning hell...so you old bast***s could roast in it!
after many, many years outside of the jw world, my elderly parents finally decided to give me an ultimatum.
i either rejoin the jw's or they will never speak with me again.
apparently my brother is going to get the same choice.
Let's not forget too that understanding and enforcement of these rules is not consistent throughout the organization, either by the elders or R&F members. One man's "association" is another's "family business" provided that they aren't discussing religious matters, which is what is meant by "spiritual" or "biblical" (as Reniaa puts it) matters. Most if not all elders would agree though that if these elderly parents needed to be taken to the hospital or if estate issues arose those would qualify as "family business".
Because Watchtower says so many conflicting things and the Governing Body has so many tricked into thinking that they are "God's Channel" people want to "be safe" and sometimes go beyond even the Watchtower's rules. Watchtower's Governing Body has truly confused and done much harm to so many families, creating unnatural situations in which communication is sporadic, leading to sometimes catastrophic and always sad consequences.

You are nothing but a bunch of old men who are foolish enough to believe in a God who has done nothing or said anything to humankind for at least the past two thousand years IF the Bible is accurate, which in all probablity it is not. Second you have millions put their hopes and dreams on the alleged promises of this so-called book which is really nothing more than an anthology of ancient religious Judaic writings and not a cohesive book. For these alone you should be ashamed.
Not content with this however, you've proceeeded to setup a Social security net for yourselves at the expense of these same people! Why else do you insist on holding sole control of that organization? You relinquish so called legal authority, yet stay in charge! Why don't you retire? Because you have nothing. Everything for most of you is tied up in Watchtower. You have no Social Security, pensions, 401Ks, nothing. You gave it all to "Jehovah" and he has ignored you in your old age. So you can't let go. Else you would have no homes, health care, or even food on the table. But most of all, you would have no power. And that is at the crux of it all isn't it? You can age "gracefully" knowing that millions adore you even though most of them have never met you or even know what you look like! They adore you and keep paying your social security bills. It really has come down to something as arbitrary as this hasn't it? It must because even psychopaths such as yourselves must know by now that your religion is empty and worthless even as religions go. What with all of the information in books and the Internet on this religion there is little doubt left.
So enjoy your old age because it is all that you have. Too bad that millions of your followers will have no such luxury. Many of them will work hard to their dying day just to make sure that you don't. You truly are sick bas***ds.

from what i can tell, there was some discussion out here on this article about a month ago, but at that time few folks had their copy to look at (we just received it last week at our hall).
now that most jw's have their copy, there has been a lot of discussion about it - at least here, that is.
as was mentioned already, this is definitely a follow up to the 5/1/07 qfr "when does the callling of christians to a heavenly hope cease?
Actually an increasing number of "anointed" could get sticky for the GB. After all, we live in a world that tries to follow democratic ideals. People resist tyranny and even though these newly "anointed" are in a cult, many of them are probably young, and have some secular education as well as common sense. If they begin to challenge the fact that they have absolutely no say over an organization that they "feed", well perhaps some dissent will surface. How likely is this? Only time will tell.

hi all, at the conclusion of my pioneer school we took a group photo with the instructors.
we had to chip in $$ to hire a professional photographer (who was a brother).
it is a custom with all pioneer schools in australia to take a class photo with the instructors (much like gilead photo).. do they do that in any other countries?
We seem to do that in the States a lot.
does anyone else hate them as much as i do?
they were so embarrassing i had to have my buttocks surgically unclenched after i got kicked out..
I liked quite a few of the medley's being that my Mom forbade any other music. But the words, wow they're so corny now that I'm out.
w t b & t s.. in my opinion this stands for we teach bull & talk shit.
anyone have any "favourites" from amongst the many flashes of light from the org.?
i've chosen this one........rev 14 : 20 this apparently referred to the publishing of the finished mystery book and foretold that the 1600 furlongs represented the distance from where it was written (scranton, pennsylvania), to where it was published (wt headquarters in brooklyn, ny)...provided you travelled by way of the lackawana railroad and hobo ken's ferry.
Mattieu, Ray Franz refers to the 1600 furlongs in ISOCF by a direct photocopy of the book. I have a copy of the Finished Mystery and checked it for myself. That's what they said allright. It's hilarious because they go right down to the number of feet from the subway station to 117 Adams St front entrance. You would think that someone would have realized they were morons just for coming up with such BS.
i know a dear 'sister', 60 yrs.
old, who has been a faithful witness all her life.
if she put in just 10 hrs./mo.
I'll never forget how this was justified in talks. The concept was something like, well while you may never have helped anyone into "the truth", and may even feel Jehovah should have brought the end by now, your bros and sisters have been bringing people in in (insert a third world country or impoverished area in your country), so therefore aren't we thankful for God's mercy even if we personally have not seen results? (Cue applause) Then there is the one Steve Lett uses, how your being out there gave the people you met a chance to show where they stand on the issue of "universal sovreignty". (Cue ooohs and aaahs on the deep thought)
