as we all know that las vegas is about gambling, but not everything is about gambling in las vegas, is there a way for the dubs to enjoy their vacation in las vegas without gambling?.
Funny, just returned from Vegas on the first leg of my honeymoon trip. My wife who has never been a JW doesn't gamble either. But together we tried one of the airport slot machines. I couldn't help thinking though how JWs and many religious people see Vegas solely for it's gambling. Yet we did the Strip, Hoover Dam, Red Rock anyon, Planes of Fame Museum, stargazing and the Grand Canyon. All are fairly accessible from Vegas.

minus the jw stuff.
Work as a first responder in emergencies, run a school board which I still do.

do you consider being an exjw a hindrance to dating?
for example, do you find it difficult to bring up in conversation, lest you get stared at as if you have 2 heads or something?
or you might find it difficult to explain why you've had little sexual experience in the past?.
I've never dated an ex-JW. I always aspired to having someone who has never been so I could just be normal. In the end I got the ideal. I got married on June 16th to an non-JW who actually studied with JWs. She understands the religion but is independent enough to have never joined.

is he on this board?
does anyone know the reason he left?
what denomination is his church?.
Willis Bentley???OMG I still have stuff he gave me in Pioneer School. If anyone finds him....
maybe there has already been a thread on this.
billy the ex bethelite just mentioned this in one of his posts that it will be read this coming sunday.
just wondering if this is true.
My Mom says to sweeten the deal they will invite these 30 hour pioneers to the pioneer meeting with the C.O. if it happens to fall in April?

many people that post or lurk here at jwn are too young to remember some of the huge international conventions jws held many years ago, but probably have seen impressive photos such as of the 1958 eight-day convention held simultaneously at new yorks yankee stadium and polo grounds.
especially remarkable was the tremendous newspaper coverage of that assembly and other special conventions held in the 1940s and 50s in the united states.
yesterday, when i downloaded somebodys old scrapbook full of long-ago newspaper articles, http://www.archive.org/details/watchtowernewsscrapbook,reporting on jehovahs witnesses so-called international conventions, i couldnt help but remember what i wrote regarding extraordinary newspaper convention coverage in my www.freeminds.org article, how jehovahs witnesses watchtower religion impacted my family history, part 3 and thought id share the information here on jwn for those who are not familiar with how such wonderful coverage came about.
Wow, I learned something here for sure.

dear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
CoCo from the time you started this I have journaled most every day. Now I'm at work browing and journaling. I always remembered your first post about your parents which introduced this thread. I always want my daughter to have something similar.
