seriously need to vent.. my daughter had a boyfriend who broke up with her today because her parents don't want him seeing a half-black girl.

he said his parents screamed at him all night.

That's true.

I'm sorry this happened to you Dinah- it must be more heartbreaking if it happens to your child.
I have several cousins and a niece that are mixed race in my family and I've seen firsthand how cruel some people are. It makes it worse that most of them live in areas where racism is an everyday fact of life and sometimes even within their own family.

anywhere on the computer which can be named as "con".. this is something pretty cool...and unbelievable.

at microsoft the whole team, couldn't answer why this.

Dog Owners -- Help!

we have a four and a half month old chihuahua--the cutest little male dog.

in the short while that we have had him, my wife and i have fallen very much in love with him.

i haven't had a dog since i was a young lad of about 9 or 10 (i'm way older now) so i've long since forgotten how male dogs behave.

I'd like to know if there's something you can do too. I haven't heard of anything that really works, I've heard of using a spray bottle of water but it's never worked for me. I had both my male dogs "fixed" and after they still tried to hump everything. I thought it was something that went away when they got neutered. Apparently I was wrong.

has anyone else with a mac updated to the new mac os x leopard?

i'm loving it since my spelling is sometimes atrocious- see i'd have misspelled that already otherwise ;-).

Here's another thought. I don't know if the Firefox browser works with Macs, but I use it and there is a built in spell check feature.

I use Firefox when I'm on my Mac but I haven't used the built in spell checker before. This was just something I'd noticed with every program I'm using now since I changed my OS.
