i thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.

i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.

no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

I tried to fade but finally decided to DA myself- family was already going back and forth treating me like I was DF'd even when I wasn't. Got tired of elder visits and calls and trying to be poilte.

the garden path of decaying brick winds in serpentine fashion through a bed of roses so colorfully vibrant that i am incredulous to discover that these fashion plates have no smell.

this incongruity of beauty minus the expected trait of floral fragrance puts me off.

i am in a zone of altered reality by so simple yet unexpected an unnatural phenomenon.

I love your writing. It's one of the only reasons I come here anymore... looking for something beautifully haunting to read. I don't always comment on your threads but when I come here I always look for them.

after a horrible marriage i am filing divorce papers tomorrow at 11am and then will be going to a holiday craft fair and then maybe to a disco party downtown.. the few girls i hang out with are out of town for thanksgiving weekend or are new moms and don't go "out".

Suggest a coffee maker, please

i can expect my coffee pots to malfunction usually about the time the year warranty runs out.

i have gotton the coffeemakers at jip*lmart for the last 10 years or more; none have lasted much longer than a year..ok maybe 18 months at the most.. anyway, since it stopped brewing, i have just been pouring hot water from stovetop over the coffee grinds....sort of the melita way, but it doesn't exactly f l o w like a melita.. i would like to have something non-electric like melita, but i hate that name now because it reminds me of jacarass's ill tempered wife.. can anyone recommend a good coffee maker?.

also, do you find any difference in the quality of a name brand product when it's sold at jip*mart as opposed to a place more upscale?.

For brewed coffee I have a Barista and a Krups- I love the Krups and use it to make everythign from regular coffee to latte's, espresso etc.

I also have a Keurig for a quick brew cup every now and then but it doesn't taste as fresh as grinding your own beans so I don't use it often. Everyone that mentioned the French press- I miss mine, broke the glass a few years back and never replaced it. Makes a nice strong coffee depending on how long you steep before pouring.

...Weird Ass Lights in the Sky...

good evening jwn!!...

as most of you know i live in a forest,in the mountains..at night there is very little light pollution... so the sky is one big theatre screen... i see shooting stars,northern lights,satellites,planes on a destination..it`s all very beautiful... tonight was different... .

tonight there was something in the sky that defied anything i`ve ever seen... it had multiple aircraft lights but not like regular airplane lights..it wasn`t a helicopter... it could go straight up or down... move in one direction then head in another..it could do all kinds of weird stuff... sometimes it just hovered..then start doing all these weird maneuvers... regular aircraft is going somewhere,it`s headed in a direction..not this thing... i watched a regular airplane pass it... .

Swedish Film: Let the Right One In

i recently watched this swedish film via netflix streaming, and i really enjoyed it.

(there is currently an english-language remake in u.s. theaters.

the atmosphere and the acting were the strong points, imho.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/let_the_right_one_in_%28film%29.

I saw it and loved it. I don't think the remake will be as good, the subtitles are a plus for me and foreign films (IMO) have a better character build up. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes vampire movies- a very interesting take.

ever since i was a kid, my father would tell me to quit being antisocial.

to me, i was just playing with my favorite best friend in her room after the bookstudy.

i had no desire to sit amongst the bookstudy group and listen to things that didnt interest me.

I can relate, I'm the same way. I have my small group of people I know pretty well and I like it that way. Sometimes in the mornings if I get to school too early people are standing together small talking. I always cringe in that situation because I never really feel comfortable joining in but I also don't want to seem rude. I try to avoid those types of situations but it's not always possible.
