The Governing Body and the Sept 15, 2010 WT
by Ultimate Reality inthere have been a few threads on this magazine already.
but i cannot recall a wt that has so many references to the gb and its authority throughout the articles as this one.
the grip of authority and control is tightening.

Try reading it in 1st person, it makes a massive difference.
Without OUR assistance YOU would neither understand the full import of what YOU read in God's Word nor know how to apply it. (Matt. 24:45-47) - page 8
Similarly today, a Governing Body composed of US contributes to the unity of the worldwide congregation. WE publish spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God's Word. Thus, what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah.-Isa. 54:13. - page 13
Accordingly, as Jehovah's people, YOU are united because YOU accept Jehovah's sovereignty, love your brothers, hope in God's Kingdom, and respect US, the ones God uses to take the lead among YOU. - page 14
In this time of the end, Christ has committed "all his belongings"- all the earthly interests of the Kingdom-to US. (Matt. 24:45-47) The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following OUR lead, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ. - page 23
As Head of the Christian congregation, Christ has used this "faithful and discreet slave" to administer His Kingdom interests on earth. He has provided direction for the anointed "domestics" and their "other sheep" companions by means of US.-John 10:16. - page 26
They recognize, however, that Christ is using US to lead and direct his disciples on earth.-Read Acts 15:6, 28-30. - page 27

Near the end of her attending meetings Mrs Covenant was asked why she was no longer putting in a field service report by her Group Study Conductor as he was trying to get the time slips in.
Her reply:
''I am not a blind bit interested in saving lives''
He was a little shocked and said 'Oh ok then''.

"False religious propaganda from any source should be avoided like poison! Really, since our Lord has used "the faithful and discreet slave" to convey to us "sayings of everlasting life," why should we ever want to look anywhere else?" Watchtower 1987 November 1 p.20
LOL . You can't make it up can you.

Can Jehovah's Witnesses accept blood transfusions in emergencies? WikiAnswers
by ThomasCovenant inwiki answers has the following answer.
only if the blood has been broken down into smaller parts that we call fractions.. firstly the 'faithful and discreet' slave are the 10 or so men in brooklyn that make up our organization's governing body.
these men, the 'faithful and discreet slave' class, tell us not to give or receive whole blood or four main parts of blood, based on their understanding of acts 15 and therefore we are obeying jesus' direct commands as explained in the following quote,.

Granted it makes them look like idiots, I think that's the idea, but is there anything untrue in the answer that a genuine Witness could argue against?

Wiki Answers has the following answer
Only if the blood has been broken down into smaller parts that we call fractions.
Firstly the 'faithful and discreet' slave are the 10 or so men in Brooklyn that make up our Organization's Governing Body.
These men, the 'faithful and discreet slave' class, tell us not to give or receive whole blood or four main parts of blood, based on their understanding of Acts 15 and therefore we are obeying Jesus' direct commands as explained in the following quote,Watchtower 1959 1st May p269
''To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing.Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him.''Although we do not give or donate blood, we are allowed to accept blood that non-Witnesses have donated as long as it has been split into smaller parts that we call fractions.
A Witness would be disfellowshipped and shunned by his fellow Witnesses if it became known that he had willingly taken a transfusion of whole blood, red cells, white cells, plasma or platelets. If these parts are broken down into smaller parts then that would be a personal conscience matter.
For example, whilst red cells are not allowed to be transfused, haemoglobin which makes up only 97% of the dry weight of a red cell is allowed to be transfused as it a smaller part of a red cell.
Whilst these definitions are not in the Bible, we as Jehovah's Witnesses put our trust in the definitions provided by our Governing Body as we believe that we should 'respond to the directions of the ''slave'' [Governing Body] as we would to the voice of God.' Watchtower 15th June 1957 p370.
Any improvements on the above?

Generation teaching. What is it about witnesses that they don't see this for what it is?
by garyneal ini cannot for the life of me understand why jehovah's witnesses don't see right through the b.s.
regarding their overlapping generation being equal to one generation.
also, i am a bit perplexed at how little certain jehovah's witnesses know their own doctrine.. take my wife, for instance:.

I suppose it is no big deal really, their mental laziness and complacency. Unless, of course, it is this same state of mental laziness and complacency that allows themselves and those around them to die from lazily and complacently following the 'blood' doctrine. Then it borders on criminal negligence, which is what I firmly believe ALL Jehovah's Witnesses are guilty of.
