We are not only just taking over Brooklyn Heights, but over the whole world!"
Obviously old Nathan had delusions of grandeur.
i forgot about this!
in the early 70's at bethel, knorr spoke down at breakfast commented about a brooklyn heights news article then about jws, complaining that jws were taking over brooklyn heights.
he chuckled saying, "we are not only just taking over brooklyn heights, but over the whole world!

so much is interwoven besides leaving a religion or philosophy behind.
recently, i had the good fortune of bringing my best friend out of the .
I don't believe it's possible to get a jw away from the watchtower unless
they themselves are having doubts, and are willing to examine the evidence
pointing to the society not having the truth, overwhelming as that evidence is.
Once someone is in that position, patience is required. It's relatively easy
to leave physically - just stop attending meetings. Breaking the mental bonds
is much, much harder, and can take years.
Personally, I wouldn't say much. I'd just encourage them to do their own research,
and suggest where they might find the information they need to look at. At the same
time, I'd endeavour to show the positive changes I have made in my life since I left
the org.
question from readers, june 1 2007:.
"does proverbs 22:6 guarantee that if christian children are properly trained, they will not depart from .
the way of jehovah?".
The self-serving response of Watchtower leaders isto avoid complete exposure of the problem - or , tragically, to quietly blame parents for the loss
by hiding behind the excuse that kids weren't "properly trained" - instead of honestly
admitting that the infrastructure of their organization is woefully inadequate to retain
Witness children.
That's watchtower policy in a nutshell - if a kid goes astray, blame the parents,
if a prophecy fails (like 1975), blame the brothers for reading too much into the
publications. Never accept responsibility for anything, never apologise for anything,
just keep shifting the blame, the brothers will always accept it. None of them dare
challenge the leadership anyway, and the few who dare are quietly got rid of, and
accused of apostasy, or some such crime.
When these Theocratic tyrants write this ugly nonsense, do they ever open their eyes and get
enlightment from their own publications? Do they notice the articles about Witness kids
"hooking up", leading "double lives", or secretly "texting" worldly boyfriends?
Does it ever occur to these cold hearted old men that they setting up people for cruel
failures in seeking an impossible task?
Of course not. All they really care about is maintaining their position, and holding on to
their control over the flock. If a few kids, or even a few parents have to be sacrificed in
the quest, tough on them.
I'll either be dead or 106 years old, doubt I'll make that age.
hopefully the # of annointed will have decreased by then
More likely increased
i was assigned the dining room this morning at work and i had a jw at the first booth.
i recognized her by her bible made larger because of the included reasoning book.
i got a kick out of recognizing her in this way.
Good on whoever tossed them in the trash, though I'd have shredded them first.
for those of you here who think you know so much, read: "the black swan" by nassim nicholas taleb.
then, you will see how much you really don't know.. for those of you here who think you don't know much, read: "the black swan" by nassim nicholas taleb.. then, you will see how much you really do know.. i love all of you, either way, but that was my parting shot.
i've been here for almost a year and i must move on.. warlock .

reading through a thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/133948/1.ashx apoint being discussed was whether the wt has told people to hate others.
i thought these quotes may be of value.. wt 1961 15th july page 420 .
when a person persists in a way of badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of his make-up, then in order to hate what is bad a christian must hate the person with whom the badness is inseparably linked.
When they deliberately choose such badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of their makeup,
In my opinion I "chose badness" when I became a jw, and rediscovered what is right
when I investigated the watchtower's doctrines, and decided to leave. I was always
uncomfortable with the shunning doctrine, and the idea of hating someone because
they chose not to believe as I did was completely foreign to me.
So much for the watchtower being the organisation built on love
forgive me for starting a new thread - apart from the emerging news about child abuse settlements .
but i simply feel that, for all of us who have suffered persecution from the watchtower society, their.
end may now be in sight.

Great post, I totally agree with you
Keep Chipping Away! This is a guerilla war and we can endlessly drain them - while they cannot remove our internet
"sanctuary". Cut off the head ( financially) and the body of this snake will die.
I will indeed keep chipping away, and enjoy seeing the tower crumble
i am going to try to live without needing the board so much for awhile.
the only reason i am saying anything is that i am horrible at sending pm's, emails, etc.
and i dont want people to wonder in the back of their mind where i am, if all is ok.. i am tired all the time and i just want to see what my life can be like not in constant thought about the jw world running through my brain.. i will wonder how everyone is doing and would welcome emails.
Enjoy your break purps, Linda and I will both miss you
Keep in touch
