Lady Lee,
Thank you so much for this thread. It's the first thread I've read in all my exJW years that has brought peace to mind and heart.
I love you for it,

i look for the things that are nice.

sunday, may 28, 2006, is the fourth anniversary from when a threshold was crossed into uncharted waters.
on may 28, 2002, the u.s. television news program, dateline, publicized to millions of viewers the facts about watchtower's deceitful child abuse policies which protect pedophiles who target and molest jws' vulnerable children.
subsequently, this subject caught the interest of media throughout the world who, through careful investigation, substantiated the allegations made on dateline.
Thanks for the reply Barbara, much appreciated.

matt: 24:14 .."and this good new of the kingdom will be preached in all the earth as a witnesss to all the nations - and then the end will come".. jesus plan was that by the time he was to return, the earth would be schooled as to who and what he was.
suppose you were going to leave the planet for 2000 years and you wanted the entire earthly society of people who would be alive when you returned to know about you.
would you tell someone to write down all your words of truth since these words would produce salvation and eternal life to all who believed in you........or would you tell a handful of diciples or say even 500 buddies to spread your words to their children and down through the succeding generations?.
So........why didn't jesus command a book about him to be written? If you think he did....please supply some kinda proof.
What do ya mean? There are four books written about Jesus just how many books do ya think we need?
Jesus said the holy spirit would help his living disciples to remember his teachings.
Jews kept their religious history in written form.
Jesus disciples were Jews.
Jesus sat on King David's throne, the Christian Jews recorded the life of this new and greater David just as their ancestors did before them.
This was a natural thing for them to do and Jesus of course would have known this.
matthew .
15:21 after going out from there, jesus went to the region of tyre and sidon.
15:22 a canaanite woman from that area came and cried out, have mercy on me, lord, son of david!
If the account under discussion had been recorded in both Mark and Matthew using the same exact wording and order some would find fault with that also. A difference in wording is not enough to throw doubt on the whole thing.
Just my opinion.
i am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.
No, I could never join another religion. No Christian religion is able to leave their filthy hands off the teachings of Jesus, they just have to add their own twists on things. Besides, I don't remember Jesus telling us we should join the Catholics or Baptists or Lutherans or JWs....

i was thinking about this, as i have a former witness friend who is showing signs of wanting to go back, even though they have expressed over the years a lot of frustration and lack of belief for the faith.
as much as i find their decision to be a mistake, i do understand why.
after all, unlike myself and family, i have never been shunned by the few family members left in and i moved on over the last decade to build new friendships and hobbies.
No! I would never shame anyone who wanted to return. They are free! Free to determine for themselves what is good for them and their family. As was already said by someone on this thread, if I shamed them I myself would be returning to the same JWism I left.
Great thread!

finding jehovahs witnesses faith.
i have a question for serious participants of this forum: .
what do you deem the most reliable means for determining the various convictions held by the population of jehovahs witnesses in terms of the range of what individuals within that group consider as core tenets of their faith?.
Marvin,
You're not saying that JWs are not complete mindless drones, are you? That has been an exJW axiom since my early days on these boards. Now they don't all do what they're told? Amazing turn around!!

Thanks Scully,
Not for the original post but for the opportunity to see the display of the immense lack of fellow feeling some had in reaction to it.
Disgusting. And some here claim to have risen above the JWs? No way in hell!

James Thomas,
All I know is that the happiest people I have known, people who are truly happy and at peace, are those who help their fellow or the earth. People who do good. Peace to you.
