I'm faded, too. But there are active JWs here, including active elders. Also DF'd and DA'd people. We've got just about everything here!

since i am new here..
i was wondering, is everyone here a df, dis-associated, fallen away?
or are there also "real" witnesses here?

my first week of posts here were very serious and all the wonderful, encouraging replies helped me very much.. so now i want to ask something semi-frivolous.
(actually it's one of the many things that don't make sense to me about "the truth").
why do animals die?.
I always wondered about that when I was a kid. My mother told me that Adam knew what death was because he saw the animals die. But, um, that wasn't the question...
I've seen documentaries and read that animals can and do indeed grieve when one of their family members or companions dies. And yet, the JWs teach that only humans have the hope of living forever.
Yeah, it's all BS.

it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.
Oh I'm so glad he's feeling a little bit better!! Hopefully he'll continue to feel better and better every day!
Big hugs to both of you!

so......it has been 3 months since my mother passed away and not one, not one witness has called, stopped by, or even sent a card to me!
it hit me today.
i mean, i must have gotten like 50 sympathy cards in the mail from her worldly relatives and co-workers, as well as numerous phone calls, but not one witness has done anything!
I'm so sorry for your loss, WingCommander.
There are lots of loving and caring people in the world, such as your visiting Pastor. I would be wary of anyone preaching at you, though. I just think that any important decisions should preferably not be made in times of grief (like joining a new religion, or rejoining an old one).
The way the JWs treated you and your mother is appalling.

today it's been a year since i got the call about my brothers suicide.. i posted on the board that i would be gone for awhile.
the support i got was unbelievable.
comforting.. as this first year has passed, the missing part is still there.
((((((((purps)))))))))
I'm so sorry.

that some of your skin feels like leather?
ugh...i got it a week ago when i forgot i was fair skinned and left without sunscreen!
there's a brown patch which doesn't feel like skin any longer and has little to no sensation.
This won't help you right now, lonelysheep, but a couple tips (from a dermatologist) might help if you should get burned again:
Your skin will continue to burn even after you're out of the sun. It needs to be cooled down for a few hours after you're out of the sun... cold/cool shower, cold towels held on the burned skin... anything that will get the heat out of the skin and stop the damage from progressing.
It won't undo damage already done, but it will stop the progression of heat into the deeper layers of skin.
Hope you're feeling better soon! You should definately get that spot checked out, though. Sounds kinda scary!
