i recently had a discussion with a witness friend (i'm a secret) and she claimed that witnesses only get disfellowshipped for being unrepentant for immoral acts.
i am curious to know from those who have been disfellowshipped, what was it for?
I'm not DF'd... I'm fading. If I am DF'd it will be for apostacy. If they try to DF me, though, they will get an earfull first. I know it won't help my situation at all, but on the off chance that I might make one of the elders think, I'd give it a shot, I think.

I think the big deal is that many JWs have never faced their own mortality at all. They think they're going to live forever. Realizing that they could actually die is a big deal when you haven't considered death for yourself, personally, before. GGG
so last weekend i'm heading out of my apartment for a lunch date.
as i am walking down the sidewalk to my car, two men in suits with bookbags walking towards me try to start a conversation by saying "excuse me" with big smiles.
i just walked by them and said "i'm an apostate".

There were JWs in our neighborhood this morning. I had run an errand with my JW husband, and came home when they were 2 houses past ours. My husband informed me that our neighborhood has been given to another congregation because they don't have enough territory, and that's why we didn't recognize them.
I'd LOVE to do that if they knock here!

Yes, I would.
That being said, I have already cut my JW mother out of my life because of the emotional abuse she subjected me to my entire life, and which she was beginning to subject my kids to. Yet, when she needed me because of a medical crisis a few months back, I dropped everything and spent my days taking care of her.... after which she proceeded to slander me all over town. But if I could do it over again, I would do the same thing. I think it's the 'right' thing to do, but I'm not sure if that's a healthy view to have or not...

hello all, the last 24+ hours, i've been at the hospital.
i took my husband in because he was having chest pains.
come to find out his cardiac enzymes were elevated and his ekg was abnormal.

Fading from an organization while your spouse is the equivilant of a high-ranking official is hard, to say the least. When it's a cult, it's that much harder. When you've been in all your life, and you truly believed it, and you have no friends that aren't, and you risk being shunned by them all if you say or do the wrong thing...... Well, you all understand that!! All of it!! The people here are in varying stages of Been-There-Done-That, and willing to share their experiences and information and anything else they can. It's awesome.
This is community, I feel comfortable here, for so many reasons that only you guys could understand. You can ask anything, discuss anything, and get honest (and blunt... and rude... and helpful... and wise) answers.

That's really wierd! The first time I didn't concentrate and it gave me the wrong answer. When I followed the directions and concentrated, it was right every time.... How's that work??
