So sorry to hear about your knee Gumby! I hope the second doctor can fix the problem!
Things could always be worse... you could have had botched surgery on your nu..... Well, nevermind.

about 5 months ago gumby had a knee operation, it never healed and the doctors here suck in a big way.
so yesterday he and his wife went south to get a second opinion and maybe get this knee surgery healed up.
so if you got it in you please pray for his speedy recovery and healing.

i just found this place and thought i'd post.
i'm a 50+ year old grandmother who was "raised in the truth".
i have been on my way out of "the organization" for several years now, but have moved cautiously because i don't want to jump from the firing pan into the fire so to speak.
WELCOME!

apupi - pensacola.
"they just won't stop knocking" gasped local elder john swollenliver as he described the relentless barage of trick-or-treaters beating on his door.
"why do they keep knocking on the door!
Your stories are a riot! Keep them coming!!
We went to the first house and I said with carefully chosen words, "ok sweetie, here is your first door!".
This almost gave me goosebumps... your child has a chance to experience 'normal'. When my mom became a JW, my dad quit doing all the holiday stuff with us kids. I really missed the holidays, but I missed feeling 'normal', like I fit in with the rest of the kids, most of all.
You're a great dad!!

the other day i asked my hubby what we were going to do this year on halloween.
he said, hide out in the basement with the lights off as usual.. i wasn't going for that this year.
today i stopped off at the store, bought some scary decorations, a spooky cd and loads of candy.
lol @ jimbo!
Handing out candy is so much fun! The cute kids... the parents in the background... I wish I had been able to do that with my kids. Oh well, maybe my grandkids!

jehovah`s witness`s have a lack of real appreciation for life..no birthdays..no christmas..no need for education..no need for charity..little interaction with the outside world..shun family and friends..allow friends and family to suffer because of ever changing rules and policies of the wbt$..very little love for anything outside the wbt$..jehovah`s witness`s believe they will live forever..does believing they will live forever make them less appreciative of the life they are wasting?...outlaw
Does believing they will live forever make them less appreciative of the life they are wasting?
I absolutely believe it does. All the time they spend at meetings and in service (where most of them don't want to be) doesn't matter, because they will have forever to do the things they want.
It's a shame to go through life, experiencing wonderful things that you don't appreciate because you aren't in Paradise yet.
One of my favorite sayings lately: "Life is not a dress rehearsal."
I plan to enjoy every minute I can.

hey everyone,.
codeblue is needing some major cheering up.
she's been hit very hard by some very difficult news recently, and i know it's been very hard for her these days.
Codeblue,
I always notice your posts, and have always thought what a kind and thoughtful person you must be. I'm sorry you're going thru a rough time right now!

a few years ago, i was diagnosed with too much iron in my blood.
most people lack iron, but i have too much.
with time, this iron lodges in the body, and it's not good.. so, my doctor told me to give blood a few times a year and this problem would be solved.
There is an elder in our congregation with the same condition. He won't go to a blood bank to have his blood tapped. Gets it done at the doctor's where he can be sure the blood is discarded.
What a waste. Think of all the lives this guy could be saving....

my parents were baptized when i was three years old.
so, you could say that i was "born and raised" as a jw.
i was baptized at age 11. i was a regular auxilary pioneer from age 14 to 15. my parents became inactive at about age 14. it was very hard trying to be a "good young sister" especially after being told you're a burden to the pioneers that have to always provide rides in service and to/from the meetings.
Hi ladybug and welcome!
