  i received this from someone who recently attended the "keep your eye simple" special assembly day.. ----------------------------.

  the title of this post was spoken by james pellechia, a bethel heavy.

  after the mid afternoon song, bro pellechia reads the accounts report.. the circuit assembly account had a surplus of $3,000, the account balance was $47,000.

  This is the reason why my family and I will never again, donate one anything to the WTS, it is a big SCAM!!! My money will now go to other truly helpful charities. The WTS has enough money already, ---if you can't afford it Bethel, stop making so many stupid, time wasting, mind numbing assemblies, better yet, come out and admit to everyone that the society has been lying to people all this time, and now wants to make amends, and will share all the Billions with the brotherhood---ahhhh, dreams!!!

  i am 40 years old and i have been hearing the same old song by jw's "armaggeddon is around the corner" since i was a toddler.

  it has to come to their minds that how long are they going to keep saying that armaggeddon is "near" or "around the corner"?

  or they eventually going to quit believing in this fantasy and look at reality?

  Armaggeddon is not going to happen, so do what is in your heart to do now, don't wait for a time in the future, enjoy life now. Once I realized this, I am so much happier, and live a much richer life, I believe that our spirit goes on after we die, if you don't, read some near death experiences, especially the ones that really baffle scientists about people that are born blind, relating being able to see. in their near death experience, there is so much more out there that I am just beginning to learn about, now that the religion blinders are off, life is truly wonderful even with a few bumps along the way, enjoy today!!!!!

  Looking forward to Armageddon?

  my eldest daughter (21) said something that stopped me in my tracks yesterday.

  we were busy wrapping christmas presents (yes, we've started early this year) for her younger siblings.

  then she started laughing and said: 'isn't it nice to have christmas, birthdays, easter, bonfire night, halloween etc to look forward to instead of only looking forward to armageddon!'.

  defd - Chill out , there is no Armaggedon coming, the bible is composed of myths, stories and historical records tweeked and put together by jewish priests for the OT, and catholic priests for the NT. And as for the natural disasters going on lately, it's just natural processes the planet goes through, maybe man has helped make it a little worse with the ozone, and global warming. And personally, I would be moving away from the coastal regions, right about now, because they will eventually be under water. I saw a very interesting thread on what some catholic church officials said, here's the link, I think this is the beginning of the end for organized religion as we know it, 2000 years of following lies, is long enough, and that's not counting the jewish part of it.

  the doctrine that in 1914 the end of the gentile times took place, jesus took up rule in heaven.

  for some reason the jws think the outbreak of world war i in 1914 is proof their prophetic calculations were correct.

  Scholar - I just recently started posting here, but have been lurking a long time, and I must say I really feel sorry for you you are a scholar in your own mind, you tell others to research and study to learn, but you should apply those words to yourself, you should study about ancient civilizations prior to the Hebrews like the Sumerians, their Myths and beliefs and you will see that the Hebrews borrowed alot of stuff from others, this was a common thing back then, just take an idea change the name and tweek it a little and adopt as your own. For example the Epic of Gilgamesh and the similarities on the flood account, go to wikipedia and type YHWH and see what comes up. It seems that the Jewish people were not monotheistic in the beginning which is why we have the El, Elohim and Yahweh references, I know the WTS excuses, but I am sick of lies, and will no longer believe in what a group of priests put together by vote and called the word of God, to control the masses, this happened when the OT was put together, and when the NT was put together also.

  Scholar, read, research go to the library, don't be afraid, once you no longer believe in the Armaggedon Crap, and the Tribulation Crap, it's really a relief, and very liberating.

  This thread is so true - I too, in the last 8 mos. have studies and researched more WTS material that in all the 35 years I've been in. And what a trip it's been, I now understand what my children have said for years in the meetings "Mom, it's soooo booooooring, it's the same stuuuuf all over again, everrrrry tiiiiiiime", poor children. I couldn't see it then, but now it's very obvious, it's nothing but mind numbing repetition and mind control. Research on the other hand is extremely enjoyable, and exciting, I've learned so much, about the Witnesses, Religion in general and what a farce it all is, and how interesting ancient civilizations were. Free at last, Free at last!!!!!! (but still attending, due to family and freinds)

  the bible is a serious book.. and the bible is a set of instructions set before mankind.

  i believe being disfellowshipped the second time here makes me feel upset.

  it would make anyone hurt frustrated or mad.

  As others have stated on this post, the bible in nothing other than myths, historical accounts, poems and such. I am reading up on the Sumerians which are thought to be the first advanced civilization, they existed about 5000 years ago, they are credited with inventing many things that we use today, like the potter's wheel, the wagon wheel, the plow, the sailboat, the arch, the vault, the dome, casting in copper and bronze, riveting brazing and soldering, among others.

  They originated a sstem of writing on clay, which was borrowed and used all over the Near East for about two thousand years. They also had a system of laws that protected the individuals, schools, an advanced irrigation system. They also had many gods, and myths some of which are very similar to some of the bible teachingings. What is very interesting also, is that Abraham came from the land of Ur which was in Sumer, he was exposed to all the beliefs and myths of the sumerians, and I believe that alot of what we have in the bible was borrowed from other civilizations. Anyone that believes that the bible is gods word should research and see what other peoples of those times believed and they will see many similarities.

  Earthquakes in one place after another

  i realize that in the 1990's, the witnesses changed their view on this thought of "earthquakes in one place after another" to be more figurative and not literal.

  yet most active witnesses still see them as signs of the end.

  i did when i was younger and something occurred to me today as i watched the news from pakistan.. did anyone ever have witnesses that expanded beyond the warning of this natural disaster (earthquakes) to include all natural disasters?

  I'm you guys are talking about this, my mom who is a very zealous regular pioneer drives me and my sister crazy with this stuff, so does my aunt who is pentecostal, any disaster that is shown on the news and we get the phone calls with "you see? the bible is right, the end is almost here" . I don't believe any of it, the earth goes throught these cycles, it's just natural for these changes in weather to happen, now it's so much worse that in ancient times, because of some areas being overpopulated, and we hear about everything since we live in the information age. My brother was telling me that Greenland got that name because originally the climate was very different than now, it was much warmer. I've also read that some scientists believe there is evidence of a polar shift at some point in the past, imagine that scenario now! All I know, is that now that I no longer believe in all the end of the world, armaggedon is almost here CRAP, I am no longer deppressed or anxious, I live every day the best way I can, and feel very happy!

  can any christian imagine jesus christ taking the pharisees to court and complaining to the sanhedrin:

  "stop these men from quoting me accurately--it is embarassing!"?

  the pharisees twisted words for their own benefit and opposed jesus publicly for exposing their errors as errors of men spouting human opinion and passing it off as god's authority.

  Terry, I just wanted to say, (now that I finally figured out that my account here is still active, I was just signing on the wrong way) that I really enjoy your posts, you must be a journalist or author or something, anyway, keep em coming! This "Quotes" lawsuit is really hilarious, I can't wait for my freinds that are still in to find out, hey maybe, I can make something up, and tell them that while I was out on service (I don't go anymore, but they live out of town and will never know), someone asked me about this, and ask if they know anything about it.
